‘All My Belongings’ by Cynthia Ruchti – Book Review by LAWonder10. Meet the Author on this site May 1, 2014!

All My Belongings is a great book, with a very controversial topic! Jayne Dennagee was very grateful for Geneva – a woman who had befriended her during her teenage years. Without her, Jayne would never have endured the death of her mother.  She had quit nursing school to care for her ailing mother. But it wasn’t the ALS that took her mother’s life…but the “Dr. Kevorkian” method of her father. Her name was branded by her father’s sins and few would hire her to work nor accept her into the nursing program. Geneva helped where she could and finally offered her an escape. Jayne became Becca and accepted a position, over a thousand miles away in California , as a caregiver to Isaac Hughes dying mother. Isaac was surprised and pleased when his Aunt Geneva’s recommended care-giving friend was not elderly but a beautiful, young woman he soon began to care for. Everything seemed to be going well when suddenly their lives were tragically discombobulated. Would everything Jayne/Becca tried to free herself of turn against her…lose the trust of Isaac and her new associates?  If this wasn’t bad enough, she ended up facing an even more upsetting dilemma. The Title…

‘Seeking Wisdom From God: A Quest for Truth’ by Thomas H. Walker – Book Review
Adult Books , Spiritual/inspiring / April 10, 2014

Author Thomas H. Walker brings out some very important points in this literary work. It is well-written and many situations and examples are used to strengthen his views.  However, as he indicates, he is not a theologian and has missed several important parts of the bible in stating his beliefs. Still, this book is worthy of applaud.  The Title is very fitting and the book cover is equally applicable. Although I disagree with some of his views, and can refute some of his statements through biblical scripture, its message is effective. My review of this book offers a weak Four Stars rating. This book was sent to me for an honest review, of which I have given. Purchase This Book From Amazon Here. [raw] [/raw]

‘Pure Love; Pure Life: Exploring God’s Heart’ by Elsa Kok Colopy – book review by LAWonder10

This is an outstanding book not only for Youth but for parents and Youth Leaders as well. It is wonderful more religious leaders are speaking out concerning the immorality in society, but particularly with the youth. Elsa has presented this topic with a light, refreshing but down-to-earth approach. The youth can follow the guidelines and record their thoughts feelings and actions as they follow along with the instruction and scenarios. I won this in a Goodreads giveaway. I am very appreciative of the opportunity to own this and recommend this to others. (Goodreads Summary): I crafted every portion of you and I am delighted with my work. I have a purpose and a plan for your life, and I will walk with you every step of the way. Will you trust me? When you think of purity, what comes to mind? Perfect behavior? Impossible standards? Everything focused on waiting for that special guy? If so, you’re not alone. The good news is purity isn’t just a list of don’ts—don’t think that way, don’t look that way, don’t act that way. It’s a God-designed plan for a happy life. Honest, humorous, and real, Pure Love, Pure Life provides practical tools to help…

‘Quest for the Nail Prints’ by Don Furr – Book Review by LAWonder

‘Quest for the Nail Prints’ was a very-well written novel, mixing contemporary with historical Sci-Fi.   The story mainly centers around three individuals’ experiences – Elizabeth (a physician),  Dr. Van Eaton (a Professor of religious history), and Paul (a pastor).  Beginning as total strangers, their lives are “tossed together” through a miraculous turn of events.  What began as a venture to Israel, through various reasons, sends them into a Sci-Fi escapade. Somehow each knew they were bound by a secret nobody else would believe – if they even survived. Would any of them ever return to their “real” lives? What would become of the skeptical Dr. Van Eaton? ….Every story must have at least one obstacle.  This story has several. This is a fast paced tale with a few unexpected twists.  Although not totally correct as far as biblical points go, it is close enough to add to the adventure enveloping the reader into the situations.  It is at times, annoying, frustrating, tender, emotional, exciting, enraging, fearful, and sentimental.  It never loses the reader’s interest and leads into the next part of the series very cleverly. This is especially written with Christians in mind. However, I feel many non-Christians would…

‘Spell’ by Janell – Book Review by LAWonder10

Whether you are “into” Halloween or not, this is a great, clean book to fit in with the holiday festivites. There were several key characters which permiated the book. The main character would be Pastor Walter Goodman, beloved pastor to all who knew him…to some more beloved than to others. The characters have very distinct personalities. The author has portrayed them in a way the reader feels a definite connection. The cover of the book clearly sets the pace for the story and is well done. Can a desperate person use evil means to interfere in the life of another?  Can that evil force overpower good?  Can a pastor become a victim of the workings of evil? Read this and discover it all for yourself. This gravitates between the thoughts of three key people but does it very well.  It is never confusing.  The story moves forward steadily and never drags and is not repetitive.  It is very well written. I could not find any flaws in the writing or production of this book. My review of this book gives it a Five Stars rating. This book was sent to me by the author for an honest review, of which…
