‘Fate’s Needle’ by Lawrence Sylou-Creutz Ojermark – book review by LAWonder10

This is the second in a trilogy. This picks up with one sent to eliminate another who almost succeeds but fails to do so. They are both helped by someone who is neutral and wanting to help both. More adventure await both key characters leaving the reader wanting to delve into the third book of the trilogy. The drama and action are continual. The intrigue leaves the reader wanting more. Great for older elementary or Young Adults. Adults may also find it fun, clean reading. I do feel, although the cover image is good, that given a more colorful cover, it would be much more eye-catching and intriguing.  Perhaps even a couple of human images could be added. I really feel the cover detracts from the book. This book review give it a strong Four Stars rating. I won this and am anxious to add it to my library collection. This book review is voluntarily given and it is an honest review. BUY THIS BOOK NOW FROM AMAZON. [raw] [/raw]

‘Quest for the Nail Prints’ by Don Furr – Book Review by LAWonder

‘Quest for the Nail Prints’ was a very-well written novel, mixing contemporary with historical Sci-Fi.   The story mainly centers around three individuals’ experiences – Elizabeth (a physician),  Dr. Van Eaton (a Professor of religious history), and Paul (a pastor).  Beginning as total strangers, their lives are “tossed together” through a miraculous turn of events.  What began as a venture to Israel, through various reasons, sends them into a Sci-Fi escapade. Somehow each knew they were bound by a secret nobody else would believe – if they even survived. Would any of them ever return to their “real” lives? What would become of the skeptical Dr. Van Eaton? ….Every story must have at least one obstacle.  This story has several. This is a fast paced tale with a few unexpected twists.  Although not totally correct as far as biblical points go, it is close enough to add to the adventure enveloping the reader into the situations.  It is at times, annoying, frustrating, tender, emotional, exciting, enraging, fearful, and sentimental.  It never loses the reader’s interest and leads into the next part of the series very cleverly. This is especially written with Christians in mind. However, I feel many non-Christians would…

Sci-fi , Uncategorized , Young Adult Books / November 18, 2013

I AM SO PLEASE TODAY, TO HAVE A NEW & TALENTED AUTHOR – CASEY BOND – HERE TO INTERVIEW AND GET TO KNOW BETTER. SHE RECENTLY RELEASED HER DEBUT NOVEL – ‘WINTER SHADOWS’ WHICH IS AN EXCITING MYSTERY/SUSPENSE STORY TO THE VERY END! 1.  Did you know there is a quite well-known figure who is also Casey Bond? Does that concern you? Will you be adding you maiden name or an initial to future writings? Actually, I only recently learned about Mr. Casey Bond. I may add my middle initial for future works, but don’t plan to use my maiden name. It’s been so long since anyone referred to me by that name that I may not respond if someone does so.  (Laughing) I do not think it is a big issue. He just kept coming up on every search until I put “author” behind your name. I merely thought it was a little diverting. 2.   Casey, is this your first published work? If not, what others have been published? If so, what other writings have you done which are  not yet published? This is my first published work but I have…

“The Witnesses’ by Stephanie Black – Book Review by LAWonder10

‘The Witnesses’ is a fast paced, futuristic novel of the New America.  Let us hope the New America never comes to fruition!   This is a very interesting, yet horrifying account of what could happen if greedy, power-hungry people in government were allowed full reign. It is very unsettling to realize there are actually people in one’s own country who are so inhumane that the events leading up to New America could, in reality, transpire. This book is very well-written.  The descriptiveness of individuals and the surrounding environment was complete.  The book cover is colorful and represents the direction of the story. It is eye-catching.  However,  I feel the title does not fit the story well. The ‘witnesses’ could be a number of different people or groups.  I also had a slight let down with the ending chapters. They seemed to skip too much from one event to another. It felt as though the “meat ” of some of the chapter was left out. Still, Stephanie captured her audence and kept them enthralled to almost the very end, which was slightly weak. The characterization was good and one could feel the energy – or lack of – from each individual.  It has been…

INTERVIEW WITH AUTHOR, BRAE WYCKOFF & CEO OF LR PUBLISHING!

I am so pleased, Brae, that you accepted my request for this interview.  Brae Wyckoff, is not only a talented author, but is, also, the knowlegable,                   CEO of LR Publishing, who exhibits high integrity.   Hey, but that isn’t all!……. He also hosts a radio show, Broadcast Muse Radio Show, plus, he and his wife, Jill, share a site on Facebook and has recently opened a blog on ‘The Greater News International Ministry’. He is definitely a busy man! 1.       Brae, Does your company publish ONLY fantasy e-books?  If not, what other genres? I decided that narrowing the genre to fantasy would mean not a lot of published books, but it also meant we will bring out quality books. LRP is not bound to just ebook format and we would publish paperback as well. My company is a resource to help authors succeed and make a career for themselves. 2.      What other genres are going to be accepted in the near future? At this time we only are going after epic fantasy books that have a message of hope. It is better to do something with excellence rather than spread yourself thin. At the same time we are also going…
