REVIEW BY LAWonder10:
Jennifer Faye s a wonderful writer with very entertaining stories. One of her personality gifts is the little extras she offers. With this book, she has added a sugar cookie recipe mentioned in the story.
With the story content, after her fiancé, Will, unexpectedly called off their engagement, Darla returned home to the place they were both raised, Bluestar Island. She had quit college and was now waiting tables in the café' there, hoping to get the manager position. Her dear friend's mother and her ex-fiancé's father are getting married. Will has returned home a few times. but Darla was always able to escape during those times and avoid him. This time she would somehow have to endure the moments they are forced to share together.
Will has a secret. He can't bring himself to share it with Darla. He feels bad the way he broke it off with her. He felt it was necessary. His father feels he should tell Darla or neither of them will be able to move forward. Is that true?
This is a nice second chance romance story for two different couples. One "seasond" couple and one couple in their thirties.
The characters are fun and endearing. They feel so real. The scenes are easily visualized. As with most of her books, within the first few pages there is a situation which immediately captures the reader's interest. Her stories al steadily move forward. this one was no different in that respect.
The only negatives are: (1) there was a statement at the first party of the Book, mode by the ex-fiancé, which didn't blend in well with the rest of the story. (2) Ihave read a couple scenarios very similar to this plot but, hey, how does one's thoughts not reflecct another's when there are so many of hundred thousands of authors with even more story lines.
i offer a Four Stars rating.
*This book was gifted me with no pressure to post a positive review. This is my honest review.
