You may find yourself dancing at harvest festivals, climbing through Etruscan tombs, traipsing among Roman ruins, or bathing in ancient Roman termes (hot springs).
You may also enjoy climbing to the heights of wonder in Capri or to the top of St. Peter’s Basilica. Or delight in soaking up the ancient and cultural history in Milan, Firenze (Florence), Amalfi, Pompeii, Lecce and Rome. You can bask in the sun and rugged beauty of the Tyrrhenian Sea, the Adriatic Sea, or the gorgeous Amalfi Coast. REVIEW by LAWonde10:
A September to Remember is a descriptive, at times humorous, memoir of a couples extended vacation through Italy. heir journey began with confusion and a devastating situation, but then continued with humor, excitement, adventure and a few personal connections.
This book enlightens the reader to the warmth, uniqueness and embracing personalities of the Italian people. After reading this couple's experiences, it would be difficult for the reader not to feel a definite endearment toward Italians. From the first couple of days in Italy, they were rewarded with the opportunity to "live" the Italian experience" rather than just Tour Italy.
I was especially intrigued to learn the unique way Easter is celebrated in Florence. It was interesting to learn that many traditions from the early Christianity era, also entwined the belief of pagan Gods into them.
When inquiring about who the Etruscans were, they discovered the Etruscans have been around since abut 900 BC. yet it is unclear where they came from. There are amazing tombs and astute highways which were built by them. much of the artistic accomplishments and other advancements Rome was credited with, actually were adapted from the Etruscan people.
Florence is very festive and extremely talented in culinary.
In visiting the countryside villages as well as well-known cities, the Bumpus's discovered each community has its individual traditions and specialties. The closeness in communities are like a strong family unit.
From humorous to harrowing experiences, 'A September to Remember' is a delightful story.
I offer a Four and a Half Stars rating.
*This book was gifted me with no pressure for a positive review. This is my honest review.
