Goodreads | Amazon | B&N | iBooks | Harlequin REVIEW by LAWonder10: Derrick had been discontent for years. There was only one "true love" for him and she had disappeared, overnight, years ago, without even a word. Out of the blue, while sitting down to his desk in his FBI office, Derrick received a mysterious package. Inside was a single gem.... a gem that could only be connected to one family. The was only a post from a small city in Nevada. Derrick had to go! Hannah, now Anna, hated the life she was forced to live the past few years. She felt angry and betrayed by her former love, Derrick. She was finally content, engaged to a handsome, distinguished man from the Art community she so loved. Her life is suddenly upended when the one person, she thought she'd never see again, shows up! As Tara Randall usually does, the reader is kept eagerly turning from one page to the next in this romantic, suspense/mystery novel. This is an intriguing story of how events in life can often cause devastatingly sudden changes. I Hannah and Derricks case, can there possibly ever be a "second chance"? Sometimes, no matter how strongly one feels, it just isn't possible. Is it worth betraying a trust - a second time - if one feels it may protect another? This is an intense, steadily flowing, poignant romance/mystery. The characters are endearing and defined well. The scenes are portrayed in a way they are easily "experienced". The Title is a good "fit" as is the Cover image. The one discrepancy is the girl in the story has "unruly" curls, whereas the girl on the picture's hair is straightened. The mysterious sender of the package is kept a mystery, as is the relationship, until the very end. There are several twists which keeps it quite unpredictable. It is well-written and touching. I offer a Five Stars rating. *This book was gifted me with no pressure for a positive review.
