When she delves into the shady happenings aboard the ship, Jack realizes Damon’s involvement is just the tip of the iceberg—she has become an unwitting player in a deadly conspiracy, and in such close quarters, there is no escape. Now, Jack has no choice but to work with her new husband to unravel the truth before their happily ever after—and their lives—are ended all too soon. Review by LAWonder10: "Jack" could hardly believe the day would soon arrive that she would become Mrs. Damon Wade! They had been through so much together, yet, in spite of her many faults, he was marrying her! He had meticulously planned out a "Dream Honeymoon Cruise" … Little did she know it would become a Honey moon nightmare! This is a story, addressed to an LDS audience, yet, it is a fun tale for anyone to read. It can be read as a "stand alone", but if you haven't read the first book in this series, you will do an injustice to yourself not to read it first. The first book is more hilarious than this one... In fact, I feel this one took the incompetence and hilarity a little to the extreme. It caused much of the momentum to be lost. It was still a fun read. The characters are well-developed and the scenes are vividly visualized. The Book Cover and Title are a great "fit"! I offer a Three ad a half Stars rating for this book. *This book was gifted me by the publisher with no pressure for a positive review. For those struggling to find hope in the depths of physical, spiritual, or emotional trials, this incredible story of one man’s unbreakable courage will inspire and motivate readers to not only survive but thrive amidst life’s challenges. A true testament to the power of the human spirit, When Life Gets You Down, Rise Up! demonstrates the refining power that can be found in the midst of overwhelming odds, a power available to all who will take hold of it and rise.
REVIEW by LAWonder10: This is an amazing true story about an outstanding boy/man. I can't imagine the devastation of watching a six-year-old boy - especially a son - run in front of a semi truck and have his body "whipped way" right in front of me! This story is of young Kacey McCallister's journey through life as a double leg amputee with his stubborn determination and unbelievably tough supporting family. Kacey's attitude is very inspirational and the obstacles he has faced and overcome is "mind-boggling"! He has not only overcome them but has "rose-up" above them as conqueror. Kacey's account of his life's experiences are very captivating and humbling at the same time. In 'When Life Gets You Down, Rise Up!', from the first life-changing accident through his elementary, middle school, and High School years to fulfilling a Church mission, starting his own family and gaining higher education, Kacey openly tells of the ups and downs of his life and how he continually "rose above" each obstacle. He also tells of the ongoing healing techniques when his health and physical disability sometime slowed him down. This is one book all people should read and be encouraged by. It is written from Kacey's Church of Jesus Christ's standpoint, but one that people from all walks of life can truly benefit from. I offer a Five Stars rating of literary talent and in inspirational effect. *This was gifted to me with no request for a positive review. Bohan, his wizard, Ansgar, and his guards are trapped in a cave by Jerado who magically seals the cave. Ansgar casts a sleep spell on all of them. It will last until the cave is unsealed. More than 200 years later, an earthquake unseals the cave and frees Bohan. While catching up on history, he learns Jerado is still alive and rules the country as dictator. Bohan learns this from a sympathetic constable named Leticia. After talking to Bohan and his guards, she recognizes him from school lessons as the King Who Disappeared. Bohan determines to go to the capital, Dun Hythe, and gain revenge. Leticia promises to go with him to find out what happened to her father who was arrested and disappeared. Jerado learns that Bohan is still alive and headed to confront him. He tells Lithgow, his son, and Flavia, his daughter about Bohan. Lithgow is the War Minister and Flavia the Minister of the Interior. They hate each other and each plans to succeed their father when he retires. Jerado orders Lithgow to use his soldiers to block and kill Bohan. Flavia, who also has troops, decides to kill Bohan before Lithgow can. Bohan and his guards, all heroes, brush past Flavia’s soldiers and route Lithgow’s. Jerado now orders Lithgow’s troops to seal all the city’s gates and search everyone entering the city. Meanwhile the citizens in Dun Hythe are suffering from Jerado’s rule and from Flavia’s imposition of lower wages to raise profits for the many businesses she controls. The wage restrictions impact on the Godmother’s bottom line. She is the head of a crime family who controls all vice in the city. She is also the head of the two largest and most powerful labor guilds, the teamsters and the dock workers. With Flavia’s wage restrictions in place the citizenry does have any money to have fun in the Godmother’s saloons or gambling halls. Also the workers don’t make enough money to feed their families. Jerado’s Treasurer, Maurice, learns a few of Jerado’s family secrets. He knows how Flavia embezzles vast amounts of money from the contracts she gives out. Maurice learns about Bohan and the attempts to kill him. These and a few other secrets ensure his early death if Jerado ever finds out what he knows. Maurice meets with the Godmother and they agree to help each other for their mutual protection. Now close to Dun Hythe, Leticia agrees to enter the city and scout it out. Hopefully she can find a way for Bohan to enter the city. She also wants to meet with the Godmother because her father was once a high-ranking official in the dock workers guild. Leticia hopes the Godmother can find out where her father is. Within the city, rumors swirl about the reappearance of the King Who Disappeared. The Godmother ignores the rumors and is stunned to learn from Leticia that Bohan is really alive and outside the city. After a lively discussion, The Godmother agrees to smuggle Bohan into the city in return for a guarantee from Bohan for protection for her business. Bohan and his mates enter the city by boat in the middle of the night and meet with the Godmother and Maurice who tells Bohan the layout of the palace and how to sneak into it. To make a distraction, the Godmother will call a city-wide general strike to coincide with Bohan’s attack on Jerado. Bohan and Ansgar sneak into the palace at night with Maurice in the lead. Leaving Maurice behind, they advance into the living quarters and confront Jerado. A confusing battle ensues as the two wizards throw spells at each other. Using Ansgar’s spell as a distraction, Bohan gets close enough to Jerado to use his sword on the wizard thus gaining revenge. With Jerado out of the way, Bohan arrests Lithgow and Flavia, proclaims himself king and agrees to work with the Godmother, orders a wage increase for all the workers. Everyone is happy except Jerado’s children who must perform menial work for the rest of their lives. Review by LAWonder10: This novel of fantasy appears to be a "spoof" of kings, killers & "calamity"! It, also, seems to add "The Godfather" to that "spoof". King Bohan and his "gang" set out to make right, wrongs by n evil, greedy king. In their efforts, they were tricked and entrapped. By the power of one of the men, a wizard, they did not die. Miraculously, they survived and were freed, only to discover great changes since their capture. The evil king travailed, became worse, and people everywhere were suffering more than ever. He, also, has two children who are even worse. It seems impossible to succeed against the odds but they had to try. The characters are very diversified. The scenes are depicted well. The book cover and title "fit" well. Although the tale "flows smoothly" and is entertaining, it lacks "energy" and "connection". The ending is complete, yet, weak. I offer a Three Stars rating for this book. *This was gifted me with no request for a positive review. REVIEW by LAWonder10: There were several impressive aspects to this book. The author corrects a lot of - in his opinion - fallible ideas that one diet is better than another. He states, "There is no one perfect diet..." because each person's physical make up is different. Each has got to find one which fits him/her the best. With HIIT (High-Intensity Internal Training), anyone in any stage of life and health can do this. It is important to become "in tune" with one's own body, so one can know when to increase or decrease the amount of exercise to best aid the individual. There are many hints he offers on how to determine this. (Or know when one has HITT his/her Limit) This simple exercise program can aid one in avoiding or decreasing many health issues. He guide one in setting goals, and in putting this program to work. Exercising can be as simple as walking around one's office or in one's home while on the telephone. Dr. Kravitz has developed a formula which includes: Motivational messages; Timer Setting; Exercise Mode; Warm Up; and Workout Design, with Interval, Duration and Intensity levels. In this book, he gives several options. Also, included is illustrations of "Future workouts - including the us of weights. In Section 4, Dr. Kravitz also expands on "100 Ways to Cut Calories" in ach person's every day life. This is one program, I am convinced I can implement in my life, where other programs have failed. I offer a Five Stars rating. *This book was gifted me with no pressure for a positve review. This is my honest review. ![]()

This is a tale of a "Good King" who wanted justice and fairness for his people. He was temporarily abolished by a very greedy and unjust king who later declared himself "President". He also had two children who were even more greedy than he. The message contained within the pages of the book are relevant to any age of time, but it was also quite facetious. The characters were described well and there as a diversity o personalities. The scenes were also developed well. The ending was fairly weak, yet, complete. There was a smooth flow to the story, it had a lot of good points, yet, it felt slightly shallow at times. It seemed to be more of a narration than a story one could "lose" themselves in. I used to love my job reporting the social scene, but I’ve been recently drafted as the station’s medical reporter . God only knows what diseases I will have to report on. This is not a good thing for a closet hypochondriac! There’s only one upside–medical reporting means meeting lots of doctors. Surely, there will be a few eligible bachelors in the mix… I’m trying to ignore my wild attraction to Harrison, but his forest green eyes, rugged physique and warm smile make my insides melt…not to mention other parts. My adorable dog, Romeo, is in love with Harrison, and he’s convinced Harrison is for me. But I’m looking for a “human” doctor. Harrison is an animal doctor. Do I look like an animal? Well, only on a bad hair day, but that’s beside the point. Marrying a doctor calls for a methodical approach, and I intend to date as many as I can to meet “the one.” I have to ignore Romeo’s blatant attempts to matchmake me with Harrison. But ignoring my pounding heart when I’m around swoony Harrison is another matter entirely… Goodreads | ~ Purchase: Only 99¢ for a limited time!
