“Will you be my dad?”
Ask me anything but that.
Once upon a time, Dr. Daniel Delaney had it all. But he lost it in the blink of an eye, and he won’t let himself fall again—not even for his dedicated new assistant, Keela O’Mara, and her adorable, lonely little girl, Anna. Resisting a starry-eyed four-year-old is tough enough. Denying her perfect, loving single mom may be more than Daniel can handle…
Dr. Daniel Delaney had suffered a broken heart and didn't ever want to experience that type of closeness again.
His PT tech had quit during one of his tirades and he was desperate, When Keela O'Mara walked into his office inquiring about a job, he hired her on the spot. This was one of his best decisions ever! Keela was one of the most patient, competent persons he'd ever met. As a single mon, she was totally capable and the patients loved her.
Keela had experience a devastating betrayal when he husband asked for a divorce then announced he and his new wife were having a baby. Keela hated that he was such an undependable father to her young daughter, Anna. Now, would he be even more neglectful with the birth of his son?
Through mutual admiration, Daniel and Keela's affection toward each other began to grow. The severe pain from Daniel's previous marriage was too severe to callow his attraction to continue to develop further. Keela could see Daniel was truly different than her previous husband and would be a great substitute father to Anna. She could feel the approval of Daniel, yet he kept pulling away. Why?
This is a touching, yet, endearing tale of two people whose situations were very different, yet, both had been betrayed. Each were coping in the best way they could. Would it be enoght?
The Book Cover was well-chosen and the Title passable but perhaps not a great choice. However, the development of the characters and portrayal of the background scenes were realistic to the point the reader felt he/she was a part of the story.
O couple of parts felt slightly drawn out but mostly captivated the reader.
*Reader Beware: There is a couple of sexual situation which were fairly explicit.
**This book was gifted me with no request for a positive review. This is my honest review.
I offer a Four and a Half Stars rating.
