Dragonflies at Night: More Than a Love Story By Anne Marie Bennett
Women's Fiction, Contemporary Romance

Paperback & ebook, 365 Pages September 22, 2020 by KaleidoSoul Media
SYNOPSIS:
A dragonfly brings a mother’s love to a grieving daughter.
Meet Savannah, the thirty-something owner of Life Celebrations, a party planning business. Despite losing both parents as a teenager, Savannah is creating a positive life for herself, surrounded by friends and co-workers who are now her family. But she also has a secret—as much as she wants to settle down and have children, she is afraid to, for fear of getting cancer and having to leave them without their mother, as she herself was left behind years ago.
Meet Deirdre Rose, Savannah’s mother. She continues to watch over Savannah, who feels deeply connected to her mother whenever she sees a dragonfly.
Now meet Ben, a thirty-something recording artist who is good-looking, talented, and a household name. Despite his fame, Ben is lonely. He trusts few people because it seems everyone wants something from him instead of getting to know who he really is.
Savannah and Ben cross paths when they meet at a yoga retreat in the Massachusetts Berkshires. They are drawn to each other’s creativity and outlook on life. She sees beyond his celebrity and he admires her strength in what she’s had to overcome.
What happens when the retreat ends and they go their separate ways? Will they be able to make a long distance relationship work? Can Savannah put aside her fears, and will Ben allow himself to be truly vulnerable?
Above all . . . what message do Deirdre Rose and Dragonfly have for both of them?

REVIEW by LAWonder10:
Dragonflies at Night is a novel of relationships past and present. It is  story of loyal friends, destinies, fulfilling dreams, appreciating life's beauty and true love. This is a captivating, inspiring and uplifting tale.

It  is a story of a woman who lost both loving parents, within months of each other, when she was only 15-years-of-age. Fortunately, Aunt "Zan" gave her a loving home and Martin becme her best friend and was always there for he during the good and bad times. After college, they were married. After several years, and through the encouragement of her other best friend, Andi, she painfully divorced him. Savannah and Andi, then went in business together.

Savannah, eventually took a most needed vacation to a Yoga retreat. While there, her life was changed forever!

In this love story, through dragonflies and other individuals, Savannah is forced to deal with her "demons", trust in other's words and her heart, to make the best choices.

I love the quote the essence of the story is built upon:
" We are all made up of light and we can all reflect that light in powerful ways, if we choose. No matter what dimension we are in ... No matter if the sun is shining or if we are walking through what seems like an eternal nightmare..."

The author created individual characters who seemed so real. The scenes were portrayed well and easily visualized. It was easy for the reader to feel connected to the story. The Title and Book Cover were, also well chosen.

The one objection I have to the book, was the few times profanity was used. It could have easily been avoided.

**Reader Beware: The subject matter is very adult and sexual situation do exist but none are explicit. There is brief use of Profanity a few times.

I offer a literary  rating of Five Stars.
*This book was gifted me with no requests for a positive review. This is my honest review.

Where the Magic Happens
Welcome to my writing space! When we built our home in 1995, this room was my stepson’s bedroom. When he moved out ten years later, we converted it into a guest room. But now we have two other guest rooms in our home, so this year … abracadabra! It is now my very own writing space.
Dragonflies at Night: More Than a Love Story will be released on September 22 of this year. It was written (part time) in this little room over the course of six years, although I had a different desk then.
The walls are a light shade of lavender and the sheer curtains at the window are ombre, holding all the pastel colors of the rainbow. It is a sheer(!) pleasure just to walk into this little room. When I shut the door, I am happily enclosing myself into my imagination!           What do you like best about my writing space? Do you have a special corner of your own home that is yours and yours alone? Share it here, I’d love to know!
