As Nora struggles with the idea of marrying without love, she finds herself increasingly drawn to Devlin Fausett, a man with dark eyes and intriguing conversation. But Devlin’s reputation as an indebted gambler is difficult to ignore. Despite the rumors from the ton and the marriage decision before her, Nora is determined to befriend the dashing Mr. Fausett, and his charms soon make it all but impossible to remember her duty. Until she learns the truth of her fortune. There is a way to keep her family’s estate, but the price is high: Nora must wed, as soon as possible. Torn between two very different men, she must make the ultimate decision. Will she be guided by her head or her heart?
MY REVIEW: (LAWOnder10) This is a wonderfully predictable, yet, uplifting Historical Romance. There are afew twists which keeps the reader captivated. Nora and her family's financial situation was not unlike many others. Time was running out and she couldn't bear to marry someone she felt no connection to. Much of the dialogue is the "Men are From Mars, Women are From Venus" scenario. One chapter flowed smoothly from one to another,k although it was written from both Nora's and Jonathan's points of views. The reader will feel so engrossed, he/she will not want to put the book down until the very end. That characters feel so real and the description of the scenes become very visual. The Book Title and Cover are both chosen well and depicts the story within. Four and a Half Stars rating I was gifted this book with no pressure for a positive review. This is my honest review. ![]()
