Can he stop the one who got away— from getting away again?
Everyone in her Alaskan town hopes Iris James is back for good. Including Dr. Flynn Ramsey, who stole her heart when they were awkward teenagers. She realizes he’s planning an encore, but a prestigious job in Washington, DC, is calling to her. Only, ever since their kiss at her brother’s wedding, Iris isn’t sure about anything. Except her reignited feelings for Flynn…
REVIEW by LAWonder10:
Iris was very conflicted in having to do all these wedding preparations with Flynn Ramsey, her old High School "crush". How can she avoid it. He is the groom's "man of honor" and she is the "maid of honor" - plus Tad's you ger sister. At tbe same time she is dreading shopping with him she is delighted yo spend so much time with him ... this is why she has to leave her Alaskan home!
Her family was well-established in tnis small town in Alaska. Her siblings had all shared a reasonable amount of popularity in High School except for her. She was the only one who wasn't adventurous and athletic. She was the academic one. She had no choice with her varikus issues. Still, her family were close and supportive of each other. It helped she was one of the triplets.
Flynn could not believe he was so caught up in the High School stigma not to realize how amazing and beautiful his "study partner" was. Now it appeared he was too late, but he wasn'quitting without giving it his best effort!
This is a well written novel about regret, confidence boosters, being open to learning new things, reconsiliation, and compromise. It has added romance and intrigue, which results in very enjoyable reading.
This talented author creates characters and situations the reader can easily identify with, and feel he/she is there with them. The Title and Cover are chosen well.
The only negative I see, is the drama was slightly drawn out, until it felt a little repetitive. Although so ewhat predictable, there was enough mystery, intrigue and "twists", tbe reader's attention was captivated.
I offer a Four and a Half stars rating.
Althkugh this was gifted me, tbesre was no pressure to offer a positive review. This is my honest review.
USA Today and national bestselling author Carol Ross grew up in small-town America right between the Pacific Ocean and the Cascade Mountains, in a place where you can go deep sea fishing in the morning and then hit the ski slopes the same afternoon. The daughter of free-range parents, she developed a love of adventure and the outdoors at a very early age. She’s grateful for the “research material” that every questionable decision, adrenaline-charged misstep, and near-death experience has provided.
