Can guys and girls ever be just friends? According to Audrey Tate and Clarke West, absolutely. After all, they’ve been best friends since childhood without a single romantic entanglement. Clarke is the charming playboy Audrey can always count on, and he knows that the ever-loyal Audrey will never not play along with his strategy for dodging his matchmaking mother—announcing he’s already engaged…to Audrey.
But what starts out as a playful game between two best friends turns into something infinitely more complicated, as just-for-show kisses begin to stir up forbidden feelings. As the faux wedding date looms closer, Audrey and Clarke realize that they can never go back to the way things were, but deep down, do they really want to?
Review by LAWonder10:
Three women scorned, devise a plan ending in a very unlikely friendship that would last a lifetime.
Love had betrayed each of them but they decided not to give up on love.
Each was from an upper New York lifestyle.
Their plan was to help each other fall as a victim again. Can this really work?
A big business woman, a small business woman and a successful Instagrammer whose best friend was a Big Business, womanizing "hunk".
This strange mix came together hoping to never fall prey again. and to help each other out should trouble arise.
This is a well-written, touching tale of each's relationships and having to deal with the occasional life injustice.
It is, also, a book about forgiveness, acceptance, friendship, loyalty, betrayal, dysfunctional, as well as "solid" relationships.
The characters are very diverse and feel very real. The scenes are defined well and easily visualized. The book Cover and Title are very Fitting.
^^Reader Beware: There is some profanity ad sexual discussion but no explicit scenes.
I offer a Five Stars rating
