Buy: AMAZON REVIEW by LAWonder10: Shameless Persistence is a "quick read" written with Christians in mind, yet recommended to anyone, regardless of his/her religious affiliation. The author shares a devastating, near death experience which enlightened her understanding and perspective. Using, the Bible, plus other individuals experiences and statements, she gives evidence to the importance of "Shameless Persistence" in offering prayer to deity In this inspirational book, the author presents three thought questions and a place to write answers, so each individual can use this as his/her spiritual journal. One will , surely, view prayer and supplication with deity in new, more effective ways. This book retains the reader's interest all the way through and is not cluttered with unnecessary words. This earns a Five Stars rating. This book was gifted me with no pressure, whatsoever, for a positive review. This is my honest review. ![]() **REVIEWER"S NOTE: I did discover a common error in this author's book. When speaking of Jesus praying in Gethsemane, He asks Hs Father, to remove this cup from Him, but only if it was the Father's will. The author stated it was because He knew he would have to suffer terrible death on the cross... This is a common misinterpretation. If one reads closely and study the other accounts, it was not due to the dread but of the excruciating suffering He was enduring in the Garden. That is where the real Atonement occurred. His agony was so extreme, He shed "great drops of blood from every pore". It was almost more than He, being half God, could endure. Angels were sent to administer to Him before he could rejoin his Apostles and complete His sacrifice for mankind, so justice would be fulfilled. He took upon Himself - at that time - the sins of all mankind. (He alluded to the fact it was more than even He thought possible.) This is what He asked His Father to take from Him. It was possibly the greatest temptation He ever endured. Still, He did not succumb to the agony and quit. He endured and completed the Atonement for our sakes. This is what is even more heart wrenching. He had lost a lot of blood, been through an atonement which drastically weakened His body and mind, before all the other cruelties He had to endure for another week, until the final crucifixion. We, as humans, will never even begin to comprehend to what extremes He suffered for our sakes. ![]() About the author: Sandra Bretting is the author of the critically-acclaimed book series, “The Missy DuBois Mystery Series” (Kensington Publishing, New York).
