Six Days to Live by Kenneth M. Page
Sometimes disaster is simply a matter of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Take Addison Roberts, for example: it is a deadly coincidence that in a crowded parking lot one day, she catches the eye of a dangerous criminal on the run. In his desperation to evade the police, what he needs is a way out—and Addison and her car are his ticket to escape. Lieutenant Chase Roberts, on leave from his military assignment, is anxious to be reunited with his wife. Yet as night falls and Addison fails to appear, Chase feels a rising sense of foreboding. Hours quickly become days as he desperately works with authorities to find the woman he loves. But after being named a person of interest, Chase is warned away from the investigation—a mandate he ignores. Chase will stop at nothing to find his wife, and what he ultimately discovers is terrifying: Addison has been carjacked by a man who has killed before and has no scruples about killing again . . .

MY REVIEW: (LAWonder10)
"Down on his luck" the man waited until just moments before the bank closed, then rushed through the doors. He had acquired a gun he held inside his hooded jacket. All went smoothly until as he was leaving, the security guard was going to question him. He was free but he needed to get rid of the vehicle. He drove to the nearby park and waited. Luck was on his side. A group of women with children were leaving the park. One woman was by herself. As the other women were hassling with getting their children in the car, He grabbed his chance as the single woman began to open her car door. Addison was terrified. She wished she had paid better attention during survival training. Th man was unstable. Chase was eager to get home to his wife after three days of training away from home. They were still in the "honeymoon" part of their marriage. When he arrived it was very strange he wasn't there to greet him. Before long, he knew something was not right! This is a powerful tale of a woman's bravery, along with other unexpected aid. It was life and death until the last chapter. Unfortunately it was very close to real life! This was very well-written, the characters were all very realistic and the background scenes vivid. The Book Cover and Title were well chosen. I offer a Four and a Half Stars rating. * This book was gifted me with no expectations for a positive review. This is my honest review.
