REVIEW by LAWonder10:
The author of Spirituality, Healing and Me has great insights into spirituality and health. In her book, she has made valid points and a strong case to support her views.
Within the pages of this book, she urges one to search deep within oneself to know the depth of feelings, emotions, attitudes and more. She defines the various points then gives much understanding concerning each one. She contends that Spirituality has nothing to do with religion. She also argues that one can claim to be very religious yet is not a Spiritual person.
Her stance on "moral behavior, accountability, universal truths and the disruption of these principles is "right on".
In this book, the author also defines Positive attributes and the importance of them for ones well-being and for the sake of others, as well.. She then offers ways to obtain them if one doesn't have them.
A few statements she made, feel is note-worthy, i.e.:
"It is only through difficult times that we learn how to become adept at dealing with and working through our experiences." Plus, "... we may spend too much time dwelling on our issues instead of trying to find out how we can best address them. "
There is a definite connection between the mental and the physical health of each individual. Towards the end of the book, the percentages she presents may be shocking to some.
The book is well-written, personable and thorough. The only thing I feel is a negative is some of the book is slightly repetitious. However, I feel it is a valid book that all would benefit from reading and applying to ones life. One other point i might add is, although she refers to the power and disciplines as universal, I strongly feel they are God-created.
I offer a Four and a Half Stars rating.
*This book was gifted me with no pressure for a positive review. This is my honest review.
What do you hope your readers will take away with them, when they have read your books?
I hope my readers can see that just because we start off in one place, doesn’t mean we have to stay there, that through our spiritual and healing journey, our lives are for us to change, and we can; my experiences show we can. We need to be determined, and steadfast so that we don’t veer off course and be emotionally strong.
We may change certain elements of our lives when we realise and understand the need for change and to also understand that we are the architects of change.
Also, by reading my books, I hope readers will take away an overriding message of positivity, awareness, and insight into their lives and what they deal with through my experiences. I hope they will have more clarity, so they can focus on how they may turn their lives around.
I hope my books touch them in a way they touch me. I hope they give the reader considerations through their own healing processes, so they can make sense of their past, where they are presently, so they too can look to the future with confidence.
I hope they will also see that we have control, we also have choices and that we can change our thinking. That part is always up to you.
