The Desire Factor: How to Embrace Your Materialistic Nature to Reclaim Your Full Spiritual Power by Christy Whitman

Book Description:
There is no limit to the amount of happiness that we, as human beings, can experience. There is no limit to how much love, laughter, excitement, or satisfaction we can feel. This universe is unendingly abundant, which means that it has the ability to yield to us whatever experiences we desire.
Why, then, do some people manifest their desires so fluidly and naturally, while others are living lives of struggle, mediocrity, or quiet desperation?
Hard work alone does not guarantee a positive result.  In fact, pushing forward with determination and effort when things are not going as planned usually only makes a bad situation worse.  Energy – not action – is the source of all manifested things, and The Desire Factor is the definitive guide to achieving energy mastery.
The Desire Factor provides one of the most current, comprehensive, and easy to apply explorations into the realm of energy, and shows readers how – by purposefully calibrating the energetic frequency of their dominant thoughts, moods and expectations – they can bring any desire into physical form.
The book is built around 7 universal principles, each of which assists readers in connecting with and deliberately harnessing the divine energy stream that sources all things. These are:
  • The Principle of Alignment
  • The Principle of Focus
  • The Principle of Joyful Expectancy
  • The Principle of Having
  • The Principle of Loving
  • The Principle of Surrender
  • The Principle of Action
Each principle builds upon the last one, and together, they provide a clear path – not just toward the manifestation of objects, experiences and conditions you desire to create in each important area of your life – but toward the personal evolution your desires are guiding you to embrace.

What Inspired Me to Write My Book, The Desire Factor by Christy Whitman.

The initial inspiration for my latest book, The Desire Factor, actually came through me more than 20 years ago. In my early twenties, I had what could only be described as a passionate love affair with high fashion and designer brands. Matching an adorable handbag with the perfect pair of shoes was for me an exalted – even spiritual – experience.
One day, while browsing in a department store in downtown Chicago, I spotted, and instantly fell in love with, an adorable little saddlebag purse made by Coach. Now, in comparison to my salary at the time, the price tag was definitely a stretch – and most reasonable people would never have even considered it. But everything about this purse excited me, so instead of feeling angry about how much it cost, I drank in every glorious detail. I admired the softness of the leather, the quality of the stitching, its intoxicating scent. I walked out of the boutique that day resolved that I would, in time, become the owner of that purse.
I continued on my window-shopping spree, and as I did, I imagined myself carrying my new bag happily from store to store. I then did what I always did when I left a store or restaurant – I reached into my current purse for a cigarette. Suddenly, I was stopped in my tracks by a powerful insight: I had been a pack-a-day smoker for years, and while I knew it wasn’t good for me, I had never found enough motivation to quit. But that one day in downtown Chicago, a new realization washed over me: The version of me who would one day carry that adorable Coach handbag would never dream of using it to store a smelly pack of cigarettes! In that moment, I saw that I could use my desire to buy that purse as both the leverage and the reward to finally quit smoking, and sure enough, this desire – and the possibility contained within it – gave me all the incentive I needed.
My desire for that handbag was not nearly as superficial as it may have seemed. It was an agent that the Divine was using to guide me to my next level of health and vitality. This coveted purse was the first of many symbols that I’ve used throughout the years to focus my attention and creative energy toward much bigger and more important goals. The Coach bag symbolized my becoming a woman who is healthy, active, self-loving, energetic, and – naturally – a non-smoker.
Two months later, I returned to that very boutique, cigarette-free, and walked out with the Coach purse on my arm. I have since realized that our heartfelt desires are neither superficial nor insignificant. The energy of desire bubbles up within us to set us upon a profound journey of becoming. And one of the most spiritual things we can do is to follow the path that our desires illumine. Our desires are designed to move through us easily and fluidly, from the inner world of our thoughts and feelings to the external world of form. The energy of a fresh desire is contagious, attractive, and magnetizes to itself the very components that aid in its full manifestation.
Our desires are meant to feel good to us, to inspire us to become better, more expansive, more joyful versions of ourselves. And when we meet our desires with eagerness and positive expectation – they manifest easily, effortlessly, and we enjoy every stage of their unfolding.
I wrote my latest book, The Desire Factor, to debunk the notion that desires are evil, egocentric, or hedonistic. I assert that desires are none of those things. Our heartfelt desires merely provide a focal point that sharpens our focus and inspires us to embody the next evolution of ourselves. It’s never about the thing; it’s about who we become when we surrender to the desire to have it.
Regardless of the specific objects of your desire, the pursuit of them is a spiritual one, because who you will become in the process of attaining them will serve as a catalyst for your own growth and evolution.
The Desire Factor provides one of the most current, comprehensive, and easy to apply explorations into the realm of energy, and shows you how – by purposefully calibrating the energetic frequency of your dominant thoughts, moods and expectations – you can bring any desire into physical form.
