Review By LAWonder10:

Aqua Paws is beautifully illustrated, and vibrant with color. The images are done very well.

This is a fun story with some excitement included. It encourages children to take care of the ocean and beach areas. It also encourages children not to be fearful. However, I feel children should be cautioned about fish that can harm them. They are beautiful and peculiar but not always approachable.

At the end of the story are a few thought questions and a fun activity.

The paperback book is made with sturdy, high-quality paper and is well-bound.

I offer a Four and a Half Stars rating.

This book was sent to me by the publisher with no pressure to post a positive review. This is my honest review.

My Teaching Philosophy By: Patricia Allieri

For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to be a teacher. Going through school, teachers were always the ones that I looked up to. Teachers have always been my role models. But what does being a teacher mean? To me, it means that as a teacher it is our responsibility to see to it that our students get the best possible education.

As a teacher, it is our job to ensure that we come to class prepared each day. As a teacher, we must put as much time and energy into our lessons as we possibly can. It is my responsibility as a teacher to make my content area relevant and interesting to my students. If my students see that I care about what I am teaching, they are more likely to listen and actively engage in the lessons.

As for my teaching style, I feel as though I most closely align myself with Plato and his belief in Idealism. I believe in this idea of Idealism because I believe that the teacher must be seen as the authority figure in the classroom. The teacher is the one who must be seen as having a higher standard of morals and values and be the example setter of the class.

As an Integrated Social Studies Teacher, I believe that the best way to operate my
classroom will be through lectures and open class discussions. I’d like to focus more on analytical analysis of history rather than just having my students memorize dates and names — teaching the students to understand why something happened and understand the context of why an event happened rather than when it happened.

Another theory I strongly believe in is Bandur’s Social Cognitive Theory, dealing with the Reciprocal Determinism Model. This theory states that three factors: environment, behavior, and perception cognition all reciprocally influence one another. I believe that all three factors
directly affect the learning of a child. If I have a poor classroom environment, then the child's
behavior will be affected and they will not learn.

As the major person of authority in the classroom, it is my job to maintain a high set of
values and morals. My teaching style may have to adjust based on the individual needs of each
class or persons within that class, because no two students think and learn the same way. My
plan is to have a very dynamic classroom in which there is always something going on, and
something to do.

If my students are not in class, I want them to feel as though they missed a great deal in
class, and not just another boring lecture. My goal is for students to leave my classroom feeling
as though they have learned a great deal about history and now want to go out on their own to
research and learn more.
