Capricorn is determined to force Odin to make her goddess of the seas over Aegir, and she’s ready to use the massive serpent to bend him to her will―threatening all of Orkney. Abigail and Hugo must embark on an adventure across the seas to Odin’s island sanctuary to find a way to stop Capricorn and return Jormungand to his watery cell. But when Abigail finds that her powers are not enough, she has to tap into her dark magic again and again. 13 Character Backstories: Glendor's RPG Adventures by Christian Blake
Every DM wants to craft a unique, enjoyable experience for their players. To do so requires a depth of knowledge of the campaign itself, and a team of NPCs that will help the players navigate their way through the story. And let’s face it: every campaign has supportive NPCs. Sooner or later, an NPC within a city or tavern or perched high up in that tree house above the forested road has to relate pertinent information to the players who will then use that information to make decisions.
As a DM, you must have thoroughly developed backstories for your NPCs if you want to create a memorable experience for your players. You can spend hours designing colorful maps, intricate puzzles and traps, and even orchestrate entertaining encounters that quickly devolve into memorable, all-out-brawls, but unless you have great NPCs to tell your story, the entire campaign is going to come across as flat, or – in a worst case scenario – boring.
This book provides 13 characters with highly detailed backstories. They will help you tell a fantastic story, YOUR story. The best part is you don’t have to spend hours fabricating an interesting character. They’re right here, in this book, ready to go. Inside you’ll find in-depth backstories on warriors, thieves, an alchemist, a renowned hunter, spiritual mediums and an ageless monster hiding in plain sight.
You need fantastic supporting characters if you want to tell a fantastic story. Here’s 13 of them, ready for your immediate use.

Day of Days: September 11, 2001, A Novel of the Fire Service Paperback – September 7, 2021
For these men, the fire service is their heart, their blood, and their brotherhood. On the morning of September 11, 2001, bound by that brotherhood, they responded to the alarm at the World Trade Center. They fought that day to save civilians, each other, and themselves, against an adversary they thought they knew, and with every step they took, came to realize they might not see another sunrise.
It’s the spring of 2001 in New York City. FDNY engineman and jazz musician Phil Coletti works his shifts on Engine 252 in Brooklyn. He never expected to fall in love with a woman he rescued from a suicide attempt on the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, but he’s been on the job long enough to know he should expect the unexpected. Across the river in Manhattan, Captain Patrick Boyle, the most decorated officer in the history of the FDNY, lies in a hospital bed recovering from third-degree burns. He’s surprised to see his former lover at his bedside— especially since she ditched him to get engaged to a billionaire running for governor of NewYork—and he begins to wonder if the Job is truly for him. Over on Ladder 14, Bryan O’Rorke, a hard-charging truckie and son of a fireman killed in the line of duty, demands 110% from the guys on his crew. When a probationary firefighter from the Bronx, nineteen-year-old Harry Sturgis, arrives at the firehouse, it doesn’t take long before O’Rorke is putting the kid through the paces, and both men suffer the consequences of his unorthodox methods.
This visceral and unsettling novel tells the story of the firefighter’s life, culminating with the emergency response to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on a spectacular September Tuesday in 2001. It portrays the courage, pain, and devotion of the men and women who respond when the alarm is sounded, who follow an unwritten code borne of necessity and preservation, and who sometimes pay the ultimate price so others may live.
ABOUT the AUTHOR:
Frank Napolitano is a native and resident of Greenwich, Connecticut where he lives with his wife and daughter. Since 1982, when he was eighteen years old, he has been a member of a local volunteer fire company, where he has held the rank of lieutenant and captain.
On the morning of September 11, 2001, he was in lower Manhattan on his way to court when the terrorist attacks occurred, and he witnessed the events of that day first-hand. Two weeks later, he deployed with members of his fire company to the World Trade Center to assist in the recovery efforts there. A graduate of Columbia University and Brooklyn Law School, he currently works in New York City and is a docent at the 9 11 Tribute Museum in Manhattan.
His first novel, Day of Days, written over ten years, is about the fire service and how it responded at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

To Whom it May Concern,
My name is Zachary Steele, author of the novel, The Weight of Ashes (The Story Plant), due for release, July 13th, 2021. At its core, it is a story of coping with grief and loss, told from the vantage of 13-year-old Mark Murphy, following the death of his older brother. Though a work of fiction, The Weight of Ashes is very much a real piece of my life, offering access to the emotional truths of my struggle with grief and loss, while granting readers a relatable character and struggle they might identify with. Mark’s journey in The Weight of Ashes is filtered through a lens of pure innocence and hope, which feeds his denial. It’s only through the experience on the pages that he can find his way through the stages of grief. As with any emotional struggle, acceptance is the doorway to recovery. I hope this story opens that door for those who need the help. My own grief is by no means unique. We’ve all experienced it, and will many times over going forward. But the opportunity to speak my experiences through story, through character, through shared struggle is one, I hope, that can open a dialogue with others, encourage the sharing of stories of those we’ve lost, and open others to a community mindset toward healing and education. With The Weight of Ashes, I hope to specifically reach teens and younger adults who are seeking a way to process and understand grief. We tend to forget, as adults, that younger minds have yet to fully experience and learn to cope with life and its myriad struggles, even if they suggest otherwise. But this isn’t just a story for teens. It’s a story for everyone. Myself included. Witnessing grief through another’s viewpoint has helped to process the losses in my life. To learn. To move beyond the grief I felt, even if the pain remains.

What would you do if you were abducted by aliens, managed to escape and find your way back home, only to discover that no one knows who you are?
The Captain's Daughters by Doreen D. Berger
Publisher : PolarisPrint, LLC (April 17, 2021); 340 pages

For most adolescents, growing up is hard enough when one has both feet planted firmly on the ground. But for mischievous, twelve-year-old sisters Diane and Robin, life is complicated further by the fact that their father, Captain William Marsh, is the commander of the Starship Polaris. Living among the stars provides a never-ending realm of creative possibility for the free-spirited girls’ pranks and adventures.
When aliens bent on profit and revenge kidnap Diane and Robin, only their indomitable spirit, ingenuity, and a common love of trouble allow the pair to escape the alien vessel. Finding their way home seems assured until the sisters realize they have been taken into a parallel universe, almost identical to their own, but with surprising differences. Suddenly faced with a family that does not recognize them, and further from home then they could ever have imagined, the sisters must evade an enemy who will stop at nothing to get them back into his evil clutches. Blocked by interstellar battles, malevolent creatures, and overwhelming obstacles, the sisters fear they may never find a way to return to their own universe and to the father they love.

How To Find Your Dream Dog by Dixie Tenny
Bringing a new dog into the household should be one of life’s happiest events. The process always starts with excitement and high expectations. Too often, though, it ends in disappointment. The new puppy wakes everyone three times a night, gnaws on furniture, piddles everywhere, knocks the children down. The new adolescent dog is too wild. The new adult dog growls at your neighbors. And where did all this dog hair come from?
Most people spend hours researching a new mattress, days researching a new car, and weeks researching a new home or job. Yet for a new dog, a companion for the next 10-15 years, the most they do is visit the nearest shelter or pet shop and buy whatever looks cute and appealing. It’s no wonder they end up disappointed.
Whether you are looking for a purebred puppy or a charming mixed-breed, the type of dog you bring into your home matters. A quiet owner will struggle to keep up with a high-energy labrador mix, for instance, while an active outdoor family will be impatient with a snoozy bulldog. And finding the right kind of dog means becoming the right kind of owner—a task that takes some forethought and planning.
“How To Find Your Dream Dog” is here to fix the disconnect of dog ownership. It walks you step-by-step through the process of choosing the right type of dog for you—not only exploring the canine qualities that can determine your perfect puppy, adolescent, or adult dog, but also assessing your lifestyle to make sure you’re a good match for the dog, too. The book also looks at good (and bad) sources for finding healthy and sound pet dogs, gives guidelines for evaluating individual puppies, and warns of some red flags to watch out for during your dog search.
With this guidebook in hand, you can be confident that the next puppy or dog you bring home will be the right companion and friend for you for the rest of its days.
MEET DIXIE TENNY:
My new book, How to Find Your Dream Dog, is a labor of love that comes out of my 30+ years working with people and their dogs. So often, what appear to be "behavior problems" are the result of a mismatch between owner and the dog they chose. This little book is intended to help prevent that, by educating prospective puppy and dog owners about how to find the right dog for them.
I always wanted to write more novels, but somehow it has never happened (so far!). I raised three children, who are now young adults embarking on interesting lives. I lived in Seattle for 16 years, then moved back to the Midwest - St. Louis - in 2001. My life has centered on dogs for many of those years; I founded Seattle Purebred Dog Rescue in 1987 and ran it for 13 years; I became a Certified Professional Dog Trainer and a Certified Training Partner with the Karen Pryor Academy of Animal Training and Behavior after moving back to St. Louis.

This first bookis graciously donated
The Bedtime Chronicles is a new children’s book series that brings a unique and innovative spin to the traditional rhyme book genre. Inspired by the creative wordplay and style of hip-hop music, the series centers on the Rimes family: parents – Stan and Pam, their kids – Benny and Mary Lou, and Benny’s stuffed animal bunny, Hip-Hop. Each tale takes place at night as Benny requests a bedtime story – and in every book, a different family member takes him on a hilarious, rhyme-filled adventure meant to capture the imagination.
Title: The Bedtime Chronicles: Legend of the Dadman
Author: Derek Siskin
Publication Date: June 15, 2021
Page Count: 36 Price: $19.95 USD
Binding: Hardcover ~ ISBN: 978-1-7367274-0-9
The Bedtime Chronicles: Legend of the Dadman centers around dad, Stan, as he tells Benny and Hip-Hop a semi-autobiographical story about the sometimes extraordinary, mostly “extra ordinary” daily adventures of the unsung hero he calls “Dadman.”
What’s more, The Bedtime Chronicles isn’t just for kids. With clever illustrations and pop culture references sprinkled throughout each book, it also appeals to those often-overlooked individuals responsible for the buying and reading of said books… the parents! “Legend of the Dadman is exactly what families need right now,” said Lindsay Rechler, author of the hit children’s book parody, Good Morning Zoom. “ “This unique story is relatable, humorous and truly touches the heart of each and every reader.”

The first book is a Young Adult Sci-fi by a talented new author, Marc Corwin!
The Optical Lasso: Beware of Neptune's Dark Side by Marc Corwin
Published February 11th 2019 by Page Publishing, Inc.; 376 pages
In the year 2140 CE, Planet 9, more commonly known as Vixus, has resurfaced on the edge of the Milky Way... the only known planet that periodically reverses its rotation. Last seen in the middle of the Kuiper Belt in 2066 CE, it mysteriously disappeared after being discovered by a Galactic Corps scout ship.
The unknown energy source enabling Vixus to spin in opposite directions represented great power which could help turn the tide in a war Earth was losing. The Fighting Fury, the Corps' finest platoon, has been called in to conduct a search and rescue operation for several missing landing parties.
Following a fierce battle on the planet surface, Lieutenant Janet "Cat" Miles, leader of this elite group of combat women, was captured. She soon found herself imprisoned with the Corps' most fabled leader, Commander Jason Cody. His name would forever be linked to the infamous wormhole hidden on Neptune's dark side; an area of space now cautiously avoided by all due to the menace which lurks within.
Paranoia raced through both leaders' minds. Could he trust a woman who seemingly had no imperfections? Could she trust a man who had vanished from sight years ago? Earth's future laid in the balance as they struggled to overcome their mutual distrust and acknowledge what those before them understood: "If you live long enough, the wisdom will come."

About Marc Corwin:
A glimpse of where the unique strands of The Optical Lasso originated:
The story depicts a creature lying dormant beneath the Earth's crust for over 35,000 years, waiting patiently to transform a dying young boy into a world leader at a time of great need. In a similar fashion, it required a freak accident to release the tale of The Optical Lasso from the deep recesses of Marc Corwin's mind, whose imagination has silently run amok since childhood, inside the Golden Age of comic books.
In 2015, a voice spoke to a wide-eyed Marc Corwin, as he awoke uninsured, after his car hydroplaned off a rain-soaked highway, plummeting 25 feet straight into the desert floor outside Las Vegas, Nevada... compelling him to write this narrative of science fiction fantasy.
A story aided in part by the renowned Hollywood producers, the Mirisch brothers, close friends of Marc's father, whose careers crossed paths in the theater business in Chicago. Classic hits such as the Pink Panther, West Side Story, In The Heat Of The Night, and Some Like It Hot, were introduced to the author at an early age, helping to broaden his Midwestern outlook on life.
The unrestricted boundaries of rhythm and sound also were impactful. For Marc worked within his family's chain of music stores as a teenager, which allowed the grand story telling of The Moody Blues, The Beatles, Johnny Cash, and The Temptations, amongst many others, play an influential role in his creative development which continues to this day.
Half the royalties earned from the sale of The Optical Lasso will be donated to the Grace Science Foundation to aid in the development of cost-effective cures for the over 7000 known rare diseases currently afflicting an estimated 350 million people worldwide.

Self-proclaimed teenage philosopher Cordell Wheaton lives in a sleepy, southern town where nothing ever happens; not since his hero, jazz musician John Coltrane, left some seventy years earlier to “follow the sound.” Cordy’s life has been unraveling since the night his father and his brother, Travis, exploded on each other. The night Travis’s addiction transformed him from budding musician into something entirely different. The night Travis took his saxophone and disappeared. When Cordy’s father falls ill, the sixteen-year-old vows to reunite the Wheaton family. He embarks on a modern-day odyssey with forty bucks in his pocket and a dream to find his brother and convince him to be Travis again—by taking him to a show at Birdland Jazz Club in New York City, and reminding him of the common bonds they share with their legendary hero. Cordy’s journey is soon haunted by ghostly visions, traumatic dreams, and disembodied voices that echo through his mind. He starts to wonder if the voices are those of the fates, guiding him toward his destiny—or if he’s losing his grip on reality.

About Dana Claire
When author Dana Claire had several poems published as an elementary school student, she was hooked and writing became her passion. A shared dream of hers and her mother's, she promised her dying mother that she would become a published author and that dream has been realized with The Connection.
Dana believes that a good story is made through strong character development; when readers become attached to the characters' emotional state and are invested in their objectives. She believes that the beauty of reading is that one can live a hundred lives within the stories of books. Her own stories come to her in her dreams, and she wakes up with book ideas.
Dana's family is very supportive of her writing and the creativity and sentiment driving it. Enjoying bicoastal living between Los Angeles and New York, Dana says she "lives the best romance in the world being married to the most amazing man she could ever ask for." The Connection is her debut YA novel, the first volume in a planned trilogy.

The York Princesses: The Daughters of Edward IV and Elizabeth Woodville by Sarah J. Hodder
As a collective, the lives of the Princesses of York span across seven decades and the rule of five different Kings.
The daughters of Edward IV and Elizabeth Woodville, they were born into an England that had been ruled over by the great Plantagenet Kings for almost three hundred years. Their young years were blighted by tragedy: the death of their beloved father, followed by the disappearance and possible murder of their two brothers, Edward and Richard of York, forever now known to history as the infamous Princes in the Tower. With their own futures uncertain during the reign of their uncle, Richard III, and their mother held under house arrest, the Princesses had to navigate their way through the tumultuous years of the 1480s before having to adjust to a new King and a new dynasty in the shape of Henry VII, who would bring about the age of the Tudors.
Through her marriage to Henry, Elizabeth of York rebuilt her life, establishing herself as a popular, if not hugely influential Queen. But she did not forget her younger siblings, and even before her own mother’s death, she acted as a surrogate mother to the younger York princesses, supporting them both financially and emotionally.
The stories of the York Princesses are entwined into the fabric of the history of England, as they grew up, survived and even thrived in the new Tudor age. Their lives are played out against a backdrop of coronations and jousts, births and deaths, marriages and divorces and loyalties and broken allegiances. From the usurpation of Richard III, to the Battle of Bosworth, the brilliance of the court of Catherine of Aragon and Henry VIII, to the rise of Anne Boleyn, the York Princesses were there to witness events unfold. They were the daughters, sisters and aunts of Kings, and this is their story.
The York Princesses is a natural follow-up to Sarah J. Hodder's first book, The Queen's Sisters, which told the stories of the lives of the sisters of Elizabeth Woodville.

ABOUT the AUTHOR:
Sarah J. Hodder began her career as production manager for Shire Publications, a unique niche publisher that introduced her to an eclectic mix of subjects and encouraged her already well-founded love of books. Since leaving Shire to focus on motherhood, she has developed a passion for history, particularly medieval and Tudor, and reads everything and anything she can get her hands on. Her focus is the role of women and she counts Elizabeth Woodville as one of her heroines. Seeing a gap in the market around the lives of the Woodville women, led her to write her first book on the subject.
