Struggling with the death of her mother and the legendary Syphon powers she inherited, seventeen year old Dru wants nothing more than to escape her old life and join the motley crew of ruffians, pilfering from the rich to feed the poor and pay their taxes.
She’s able to do just that disguised as a lad, and even when her nature is discovered, nothing changes – except for the way her friend Hawkin treats her. But Dru’s new world is overturned when she and the Brothers seize the treasures of a Prince who threatens to reveal her identity. Together, Dru and her chosen family must find a way to reclaim her destiny and bring balance to the Kingdom. If not, there may be no hope left for anyone.

About Dana Claire
When author Dana Claire had several poems published as an elementary school student, she was hooked and writing became her passion. A shared dream of hers and her mother's, she promised her dying mother that she would become a published author and that dream has been realized with The Connection.
Dana believes that a good story is made through strong character development; when readers become attached to the characters' emotional state and are invested in their objectives. She believes that the beauty of reading is that one can live a hundred lives within the stories of books. Her own stories come to her in her dreams, and she wakes up with book ideas.
Dana's family is very supportive of her writing and the creativity and sentiment driving it. Enjoying bicoastal living between Los Angeles and New York, Dana says she "lives the best romance in the world being married to the most amazing man she could ever ask for." The Connection is her debut YA novel, the first volume in a planned trilogy.

The York Princesses: The Daughters of Edward IV and Elizabeth Woodville by Sarah J. Hodder
  • Publisher : Chronos Books (May 1, 2021); 160 pages
  • ISBN-10 : 1789045576;  ISBN-13 : 978-1789045574
Synopsis:
As a collective, the lives of the Princesses of York span across seven decades and the rule of five different Kings.
The daughters of Edward IV and Elizabeth Woodville, they were born into an England that had been ruled over by the great Plantagenet Kings for almost three hundred years. Their young years were blighted by tragedy: the death of their beloved father, followed by the disappearance and possible murder of their two brothers, Edward and Richard of York, forever now known to history as the infamous Princes in the Tower. With their own futures uncertain during the reign of their uncle, Richard III, and their mother held under house arrest, the Princesses had to navigate their way through the tumultuous years of the 1480s before having to adjust to a new King and a new dynasty in the shape of Henry VII, who would bring about the age of the Tudors.

Through her marriage to Henry, Elizabeth of York rebuilt her life, establishing herself as a popular, if not hugely influential Queen. But she did not forget her younger siblings, and even before her own mother’s death, she acted as a surrogate mother to the younger York princesses, supporting them both financially and emotionally.
The stories of the York Princesses are entwined into the fabric of the history of England, as they grew up, survived and even thrived in the new Tudor age. Their lives are played out against a backdrop of coronations and jousts, births and deaths, marriages and divorces and loyalties and broken allegiances. From the usurpation of Richard III, to the Battle of Bosworth, the brilliance of the court of Catherine of Aragon and Henry VIII, to the rise of Anne Boleyn, the York Princesses were there to witness events unfold. They were the daughters, sisters and aunts of Kings, and this is their story.
The York Princesses is a natural follow-up to Sarah J. Hodder's first book, The Queen's Sisters, which told the stories of the lives of the sisters of Elizabeth Woodville.

ABOUT  the AUTHOR:
Sarah J. Hodder began her career as production manager for Shire Publications, a unique niche publisher that introduced her to an eclectic mix of subjects and encouraged her already well-founded love of books. Since leaving Shire to focus on motherhood, she has developed a passion for history, particularly medieval and Tudor, and reads everything and anything she can get her hands on. Her focus is the role of women and she counts Elizabeth Woodville as one of her heroines. Seeing a gap in the market around the lives of the Woodville women, led her to write her first book on the subject.

"With twists, loyalty between friends, and its cast's cleverness, the middle grade fantasy The Eye of Zeus hits all the right notes."

;184 pages
·  ISBN-10 : 1789045959 ·  ISBN-13 : 978-1789045956

BOOK DESCRIPTION:
Despite widespread interest in Robert Devereux, 2nd Earl of Essex, little has been written about him in decades past. In Elizabeth I's Last Favourite, Sarah-Beth Watkins brings the story of his life, and death, back into the public eye.
In the later years of Elizabeth I's reign, Robert Devereux became the ageing queen's last favourite. The young upstart courtier was the stepson of her most famous love, Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester. Although he tried, throughout his life, to live up to his stepfather's memory, Essex would never be the man he was. His love for the queen ran in tandem with undercurrents of selfishness and greed. Yet, Elizabeth showered him with affection, gifts and the tolerance only a mother could have for an errant son. In return, for a time, Essex flattered her and pandered to her every whim.
But, one disastrous commission after another befell the earl, from his military campaigns, to voyages seeking treasure, to his stint as spymaster. Ultimately, his relationship with the queen would suffer and his final act of rebellion would force Elizabeth I to ensure her last favourite troubled her no more.

ABOUT the AUTHOR:

Scarlette Pike grew on the banks of the Virgin River in Southern Utah. After her fair share of wandering she realized that historical fiction had always been what she wanted. Following a desperate prayer and a simple idea, she began to write a historical fiction novel.
She was drawn to African explorers David and Mary Livingstone and David's one and only convert: Chief Sechele. The mix of Victorian etiquette and African survival inspired her and she wrote "In Spite of Lions" in a tiny, tiny apartment in central freezing Utah. She plans on writing the sequel in a real grownup house with better heat.

Whenever a Child Is Born by Nancy Diedrich
 Children's Fiction (Ages 3-7),  30 pages
Christian Faith Publishing, Inc ~ Release date:   July 2017
Book Description:
In his 2014 homily for the Feast of Holy Guardian Angels, October 2, Pope Francis told those gathered for daily mass to be like children who pay attention to their "traveling companion. No one journeys alone, and no one should think that they are alone.
In this children's book, angels wait anxiously and with great excitement to see which one of them will be chosen to be the guardian angel of a child that is to be born. This delightful book depicts the joy of all God's creations anticipating the birth of another precious child. The sun shines brighter, the moon has a shinier glow, flowers grow taller, birds tweet more sweetly, and angels dance and sing with bliss, as all creation awaits another baby girl or boy.
Whenever a Child Is Born offers the perfect message for parents as it charmingly tells the story of how all of heaven and earth react to the news that a child is about to be born. The story comforts parents with the knowledge that their baby is a special gift from heaven to them, and that they will never be alone raising their child, and that their child will never ever be alone in life.
Parents never worry. No one journeys alone through life because whenever a child is born, he is given a guardian angel.

ABOUT the AUTHOR:
Nancy Diedrich was born and raised in South Louisiana, where storytelling was not just an art form, but an authentic way of communicating. Everyone had a tale to tell! This was, more than likely, where her love of communication developed. With undergraduate degrees in English and speech, and graduate degrees in psychological counseling, Nancy learned that words can educate; they can entertain; they can inspire and they can heal.
In Nancy’s career, she has been
a teacher, a counselor and an author, where the power of words always guided her in interaction with her students, clients and readers. Nancy’s value for genuine communication extends beyond her career, to the anchors of her life, which are her faith, her family and her friendships.
Whenever A Child Is Born is Nancy’s first published children’s book. In it, the reader gets a glimpse of this author’s compassion for family, and her gift of faith, as the story tells how all of heaven and earth react to the news that a child is about to be born.

SYNOPSIS:
The average ten-year-old girl seldom travels far from home. She doesn’t worry about being kidnapped by witches or imprisoned in medieval castles where children meet their unspeakable demise. She rarely gives thought to curses, potions and magic. She certainly isn’t risking life and limb to decipher ancient rites and lost treasures ....

But Liberty Frye is about to discover she is not your average girl.
When a cryptic note arrives one day, the news it brings flips Libby’s small-town life upside down. Soon, she finds herself lured to a foreign land where retired witches, chatty bats and geriatric World War II pilots await. It’s up to Libby to unravel the sinister plot that brought her there in the first place, but in so doing, she’ll uncover a shocking secret that will change her life forever ... if she survives the challenge.

This is your opportunity to be among the first to read this exciting new novel by talented author, Greg Fields! - Graciously donated by >>>>

Through the Waters and the Wild by Greg Fields
  • Publisher : Koehler Books (January 15, 2021); 288 pages
  • ISBN-10 : 1646632087  |  ISBN-13 : 978-1646632084
BOOK BLURB:
In addition to exploring topics such as the Irish American experience today and the impact of the Irish Civil War, Fields also grapples with key existential questions and explores themes including:
Discovery of purpose by stripping away the expectations of others. It takes great courage and self-awareness to strip away the expectations of others and listen to the inner voices that define who we really are.
Exile of both place and character. In bowing to the expectations of others and the pressures of conformity, everyone runs the risk of exile.
Redemption after exile. The process of redemption which comes at last through a recognition of one’s most basic and fundamental purpose. A single event, an accidental meeting, the press of a stranger’s hand might trigger a revelation, and that revelation might uncover new clues of purpose, place and passion. As we are all exiled in some measure from who we truly are and are meant to be, we all carry within us the potential for return.

The haunting of past mistakes. How do we reconcile ourselves to those mistakes? Do we dwell on damage done or the bruises we ourselves suffered? What are the contours of forgiveness, and is self-forgiveness the most significant form of penance for what we’ve done wrong?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
        B. B. Alston started writing in middle school, entertaining his classmates with horror stories starring the whole class where not everyone survived! After several years of trying to break into publishing, he had just been accepted into a biomedical graduate program when a chance entry into a twitter pitch contest led to his signing with TBA, 20+ book deals worldwide, and even a film deal. When not writing, he can be found eating too many sweets and exploring country roads to see where they lead.
        B. B. was inspired to write AMARI AND THE NIGHT BROTHERS because he couldn’t find any fantasy stories featuring Black kids when he was growing up. He hopes to show kids that though you might look different, or feel different, whatever the reason, your uniqueness needn’t only be a source of fear and insecurity. There is great strength and joy to be found in simply accepting yourself for who you are. Because once you do so, you’ll be unstoppable.

Santa in a Snow Globe by A.H. Edelman
 Publisher : IR Publishing (October 6, 2020)
  • Publication date : October 6, 2020
  • Print length : 18 pages
  • BOOK BLURB:
The holidays are typically a season of unbridled merriment and joy. However, this year’s celebrations are going to look a bit different. Recognizing the challenges this year’s holiday season will bring, New Jersey mom A.H. Edelman was inspired to write Santa in a Snow Globe [October 2020, paperback, hardcover, and ebook], the first illustrated children’s book to offer parents, caregivers, and children a starting point to talk about life’s new realities—explained straightforwardly by Santa—complete with timeless advice, beautiful inclusive illustrations, and a big dose of Christmas cheer.

About the Author
A.H. Edelman is the author of The Little Black Dress and Manless in Montclair.
The mom of two was reading the business section of the Sunday New York Times when she saw a story about protecting Santas from COVID-19 this year. Edelman thought about how, in 2020, children have had to adapt to new holiday traditions and celebrations nearly all year long.
“Kids already couldn’t celebrate Easter, they sat out most of the summer and Halloween. They’re really going to want to see Santa for Christmas, or at least be assured he’s still coming,” she adds. Going beyond mask-wearing and social distancing, Santa in a Snow Globe also touches on issues the world is facing today, including climate change and protests. However, Edelman’s Santa still shares a positive message of hope and the importance of appreciating the simpler things in life.

“As a parent myself, I can understand people asking, is this really the news we want to share with our children? And my answer is, ‘Yes, we have to!’ They already know something is up. But the fact is I’m also an optimist. I’m a grown Jewish woman who believes in Santa and happy endings. So, of course, Santa will show up on Christmas Eve, but before he does, he has a few words to say about what he sees happening in the world and what matters most.”
She lives in Montclair, NJ.

The Second book is a newly released story for Young Adults, addressing  "Fractures" often experienced in life. Book is graciously presented by Smith Publicity, Inc
Picture
Fractured by Shay Siegel
  • Publication date : October 27, 2020,  290 pages
BOOK DESCRIPTION (per Media Release):
NEW COMING OF AGE YA DEBUT CONFRONTS THE “FRACTURES” OF YOUNG LOVE, MENTAL HEALTH AND SEXUAL ASSAULT
After breaking her own wrist, author Shay Siegel began considering how literal and metaphorical fractures are perceived in society. Inspired by mental health awareness and the scars people cannot see, Siegel released her first YA novel, Fractured, (October 27, 2020, ISBN: 978-1-7346600-0-5), which centers on a young high school football player’s perspective shift of his aspirations and empathy to people he least expects to play a special part in his life.
Mason Vance is the guy everybody wants to be, and he knows it. He’s the best high school quarterback in New York and he’s expected to land in the NFL one day. That is, until a broken wrist leaves him fearing whether he’ll ever play again.
In an attempt to save his crippled ego, Mason sets his sights on Lace. She’s no cheerleader or homecoming queen like his usual type. She’s too wrapped in her own misery to care about him or his pickup lines. Slowly, she lets him into the sad workings of her mind and less-than-perfect life. That’s why neither of them sees his huge mistake coming—one that instantly fractures everything between them.
Will Mason be able to confront the ugliest side of himself, and in the process see who he’s capable of becoming, or will he fall back into the life he knew before Lace and his injury?
Through Siegel’s deep study and compassion for young adult stories and pop culture, Fractured will appeal to young adult fans of John Green’s books, like Looking for Alaska, Paper Towns, and The Fault in Our Stars, as well as Jay Asher’s Thirteen Reasons Why. Similar to these titles, Fractured is a realistic coming of age drama, sharing insight into hard, but necessary discussions about the growing pains and fractures of rape culture, depression, and identity. Siegel also speaks from her own experience with mental health, addressing a new, genuine concern for the development of these conditions in characters.

"Author Dave McGowan has been a cowboy, forest fire fighter, heavy equipment operator, farmhand, gardener, road musician and businessman.
He now writes, and works as a commercial driver, in Northern British Columbia."
The forgoing is the bio from the back of my novels and one might conclude from this information that I was a poor employee ... either lazy or didn't know what I was doing ... and was kicked off a lot of jobs.
You would be partially correct, at least in surmising that I don't know what I am doing. As for my being a poor employee, you would have to ask my bosses ... although I think I've managed to trick the one I have now.
Of course, when I had my own business my boss thought I was marvelous.
Truthfully, I've managed over the years to find employment regardless of my location or the problems that might exist with the economy. I enjoyed much of that experience at the time and am glad that I attained it.
I've also visited a good portion of North America and lived in several areas of Canada where I met some great people and enjoyed some wonderful country.
Speaking of great people, Karen and I are parents to four great people who have supplied eight grandchildren who show that improvements can be possible in each generation. One of those has added a great-grand daughter to the line.

Chelsea Jamison has been infatuated with Drew Stirling longer than she's loved playing basketball, high-top sneakers, and the Knicks. Unfortunately, all Drew sees is the kid who kicked his trash in the high school free throw contest and not the girl whose heart breaks into a fast dribble when he's near.
Drew makes an unexpected visit home to Echo Ridge and their friendship picks up where they left off as they scheme to make a teenaged boy's Christmas dreams come true. When Chelsea realizes she's fallen for her best friend, she wonders if there is any hope of a relationship with Drew or if she's stuck in buddy-status for life.    BUY LINK: Amazon
