About The BookHerman and The Princess Gull by Lew Maurer, Candace Camling (Illustrator) \
Herman was inspired by a true event on a lovely beach in Costa Rica. The author includes the “backstory” at the end, lending a nice, educational touch to the “cast of characters.”
Herman and Antares will melt hearts and become heroes of the sea for children everywhere. Be prepared—kids ask to hear this story night after night.
About the Author:
Growing up on fishing boats, the author has spent his entire life on the water, repairing, building, and operating commercial and pleasure vessels all over the world. This depth of knowledge and experience gave him the ability to build and captain Moana a very special, long-range power catamaran. His love affair with the sea is tangible as he describes in authentic detail, his fifteen-year odyssey to the most remote places on our planet. He calls San Diego home … when he is home.
ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR

In this 2nd book, it is about a remarkable adventure of a young girl. - Perfect for Elementary and MG age Children! This ARC will enable the Winner to be among the very first to read it! (Hopefully, review it too!)

In Heather Mateus Sappenfield’s “The River Between Hearts” (Fitzroy Books/Regal House, February 1, 2022), third grader Rill’s father disappears, lost to a turbulent river. A year later, everyone insists he’s gone, but Rill is still certain he’s coming back. When Rill discovers her classmate, Perla, hiding out in Rill’s tree house after Perla’s family is deported, the two form an unlikely bond. Together, the girls embark on a remarkable adventure which tests their understanding of themselves, each other, and of the world around them—and opens new, unexpected doors to healing.
