Liberty Frye and the Witches of Hessen by J.L. McCreedy
Publisher : Penelope Pipp Publishing (January 16, 2014)
Publication date : January 16, 2014 | 276 pages
SYNOPSIS:
The average ten-year-old girl seldom travels far from home. She doesn’t worry about being kidnapped by witches or imprisoned in medieval castles where children meet their unspeakable demise. She rarely gives thought to curses, potions and magic. She certainly isn’t risking life and limb to decipher ancient rites and lost treasures ....

But Liberty Frye is about to discover she is not your average girl.
When a cryptic note arrives one day, the news it brings flips Libby’s small-town life upside down. Soon, she finds herself lured to a foreign land where retired witches, chatty bats and geriatric World War II pilots await. It’s up to Libby to unravel the sinister plot that brought her there in the first place, but in so doing, she’ll uncover a shocking secret that will change her life forever ... if she survives the challenge.

She currently lives in a creaky old house in the White Mountains of New Hampshire with her husband, an assortment of visiting ladybugs, and perhaps a ghost or two.

Publish Date - January 12, 2021  |  Pages - 464
Description:
She knows a liar when she sees one.
He knows a fraud when he meets one.
In a steam-powered world, Miss Constance Haltwhistle is the last in a line of blue-blooded rogues. Selling firearms under her alias, the "Brass Queen," she has kept her baronial estate's coffers full. But when US spy J. F. Trusdale saves her from assassins, she's pulled into a search for a scientist with an invisibility serum.
As royal foes create an invisible army to start a global war, Constance and Trusdale must learn to trust each other. If they don't, the world as they know it will disappear before their eyes.

If you like the Parasol Protectorate or the Invisible Library series, you'll love this gaslamp fantasy-a rambunctious romantic romp that will have you both laughing out loud and wishing you owned all of Miss Haltwhistle's armaments.
"Simply a joy to read!" -James A. Owen, bestselling author of Here, There Be Dragons
"At times wondrous, at times romantic, and very often gut-bustingly funny."

My wish is that we all stay healthy and it doesn't snow a lot. I don't mind cold weather but I don't like snow.
