The Intrigues of Jenny Lee by Alex Rosenberg
  • 336 pages
  • Publisher: Top Hat Books (May 29, 2020)
  • Publication Date: May 29, 2020
  • Synopsis:
  •      A gripping and evocative story of love, politics, betrayal and bravery, which reimagines events of the interwar years.
Jennie Lee was elected to parliament aged just twenty-four, five years too young even to vote in 1929 Britain. From the Labour backbenches, she hurled barbs and bolts of thunder at the likes of Winston Churchill, Lady Astor, even her own party’s Prime Minister, Ramsay McDonald.
The novel intertwines real events with a personal story involving Elizabeth Bowes-Lyons, the future Queen Mother; the womanizing fascist Oswald Mosley; the Great War prime minister Lloyd-George; and the radical Labour MP Aneurin Bevan.
A series of political and intimate intrigues turn history into thriller when Jennie has the chance to radically change the course of history for Britain, Europe and the world.

'...marvellous in so many ways… An excellent take on the twisted, dangerous politics of 1930s Britain and a rattling good read.' C.J. Sansom, author of Dominion and the Shardlake mysteries

Unfortunately, the good times are coming to a rapid end. With a cryptic message from a mysterious hacker, Thomas discovers that his nemesis is pursuing an object even more powerful than the crystals. Arius will stop at nothing to find the treasure and destroy his enemies, and this time he’s not alone. Dark creatures with darker powers are flocking to Arius’s cause: shapeshifters, warlocks, even a sadistic killer in a schoolgirl outfit.

Thomas Wildus and The Book of Sorrows (The Elandrian Chronicles 1) by J.M. Bergen
  •  364 pages
  • Publisher: Elandrian Press (February 2, 2019)
  • Publication Date: February 2, 2019
SYNOPSIS:
Magic is real, Thomas. No matter what happens, always remember that magic is real."
Seven years have passed, and Thomas hasn't forgotten. He hasn't forgotten the blue of his dad's eyes either, or the tickle of beard on his cheek as they hugged goodbye for the very last time.
Now, with his 13th birthday rapidly approaching, Thomas's search for magic is about to take a radical and unexpected turn. At an out-of-the-way shop filled with dusty leather books, a strange little man with gold-flecked eyes offers him an ancient text called The Book of Sorrows. The price is high and the rules are strict, but there's no way Thomas can resist the chance to look inside.
With the mysterious book guiding the way, a strange new world is revealed – a world in which Thomas has a name and destiny far more extraordinary than he ever imagined. But time is short. Even as Thomas uncovers his secret family history, a powerful new enemy emerges, threatening to end his rise to power and destroy everything he holds dear.

About the Author:
J.M.’s debut fantasy/magic series originally started as a bedtime story for his oldest son. The story turned into a saga, and one book turned into five.
When J.M. isn’t working on the Thomas Wildus books, you can find him playing with his kids, napping, or dreaming up new adventures.
If you ever meet him and can’t think of anything to talk about, you might ask about Herman the Shark, the Kai and Eli stories, or why Riddle-Master by Patricia McKillip is his all-time favorite book. Or maybe, just maybe, you’ll have questions and stories of your own (if you do, he’ll think that’s far more interesting).

Yummy Me Feels So Good Kindle Edition by Lion I Am
  • Publisher: Funny Bird Productions (January 7, 2020)
  • Publication Date: January 7, 2020 |  17 pages
  • BLURB ABOUT the BOOK:
  •       Parents this book is a great way to explore and play with feelings together with your children. There are animal pictures that children can enjoy and talk about. This is a beautiful way for your children to make friends with their feelings and learn how to "play" with them. It's also a way to encourage us to keep remembering and returning to positive and nurturing feelings and memories. This creates healthy neural networks in our brains. Something as simple as remembering an animal or happy feeling can change our whole body chemistry.
We can anchor happy feelings and memories in our neural networks by remembering them and "replaying" them to strengthen our "Happy Muscles".
We probably all remember when we were young how feelings came and went quickly and didn't "stick" so much. A simple belly laugh could easily erase feelings then and bring us back to joy and wonder.
This is the feeling of wonder and gratitude for just being alive. Watch as a child loses him or herself with an insect, animal, small pebble. or even a faraway star. They are lost in the feeling of wonder and joy. We can all remember that as our natural happy place we lived in when we were young. We can reclaim this when we give space to and appreciate our children's silent moments of wonder and joy.

About the Author      The author Lion I Am Dan lives on a beautiful island with lots of trees and animals. He likes quiet spaces in nature just like his animal friends. He enjoys talking to the turtles, dolphins and whales when they're around him. Like the Lion he enjoys relaxing in nature and listening to the sounds of the birds and animals and that of the wind in the trees and bamboos. He especially loves walking along the beach by the ocean surf. He loves playing with children and animals. They help him laugh at all his passing Me's and his funny moods. The children and animals remind him to be grateful for his life here on this beautiful Earth. On a good day he's like the relaxed watchful lion who watches things from his resting place of Self love and wonder. The mop top birds who sing "All there is is Love, Love is all there is. Love is all there is, All you need is Love" know what is important. They are very smart and happy birds. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Summer is my favorite time of year. I love the long days and beautiful balmy evenings. Long walks in the foothills give me great enjoyment. What I would love to do is travel to a beach and relax at the ocean.

I am an avid reader, and of course, I read year round. I also love to cook all the time. I especially love to cook in the summer because all the summer vegetables and fruits are so delicious.

I do love the fresh fruit & veggies but hate the heat! I do feel we have both these in common, although my favorite time to cook is in Winter.
Enjoy!

There are many things that I enjoy a lot. A few of them are reading books , taking fur baby to the park, playing with fur baby, entering sweepstakes etc. But my most favorite thing to do is to travel and explore new places. I doubt if I will be traveling this summer but I will be doing the others

With this crazy time in the world, that is definitely a positive blessing. So often we get so caught up in the word we seldom enjoy the most important things - Family and relationships.
