SOIC and SOT: the Microchips by Jeffrey C. Dunnihoo Illustrated by Simona M. Ceccarelli
PB #978-1-7322836-1-9 US$7.95/CA$10.99    |  HC #978-1-7322836-2-6 US$17.95/CA$23.99

 Hardcover: 28 pages | Publication Date: October 1, 2018 | Ages 2-6/Grades PreK-1
About the Book:
Two microchips named SOIC and SOT go on a journey through an electronics assembly line. From shipping boxes, through the soldering process, assembly and test, the chips learn about the world outside, and what they were born to do! The perfect picture book for our littlest electrical engineers and technicians to be.
TAKE NOTE:

SOIC and SOT (and Friends) is a picture book series created to help provide a first step into the future for children, parents and teachers, and especially those who are not already involved and conversant in technology and microelectronics careers. The specific focus: the microchips in every electronic device kids use.
From talking pigs to steam engines and aardvarks to trucks, children's books cover a huge range of people, places and things that are rarely part of a child's day to day life-but what about the microchips that make up the toys and tools they play with every day? For a free and fair technological society to flourish, it is critical that that all kids are at least introduced to what's under the hood in their high-tech laptops, tablets and smartphones, just as they learn about birds, trees and trains or letters, colors and counting.
There are many, many more people involved in electronics than just engineers and scientists. And while not everyone is destined for advanced STEM college degrees, every child can be introduced to, benefit from and create their own technology contribution.

Dreams and hopes are wonderful things to aspire to and I am old now. I still would love to travel since illness made it too difficult for the past 6 years. Drams of having more family visit and reunions.

I can TOTALLY relate! Health issues and growing old can definitely put a damper on plans but we can always Dream of the remarkable, incomprehensible things we will do in the next life, when we are free from the "weakness of the flesh"

My dream is to have a huge, beautiful garden that I can be proud of! I'm a beginner gardener and I'm learning so one day i will achieve this goal. This year i was bombarded with almost every kind of bug in my vegetable garden, it was alot of work with little reward but i learned from it!

Good for you, Sally!
Gardening can be thankless, yet I feel it is very rewarding when you reap the positive results from gardening.
There are so many good ideas online of what herbs and plants to plant around other vegetables to reduce bug problems. I
I have discovered there is an art to successfully maintain a garden!

Leela,
My heart aches for you. I know it sounds cliché, but I truly will pray for you.
My husband just began his first treatment last week.
Health issues are so difficult to mentally/emotionally cope with.
I will pray you will receive the internal strength to assist you in becoming stronger physically.
HUGS!
