REVIEW By LAWonder10:
Dream It, Do It is a wonderful, "easy reading" book for Elementary and Middle Grade aged children but YA and adults may find it very interesting to. It contains a lot of useful information and ideas. It is a great resource for group/family discussions.

This book contains little known facts about Dr. Seuss, some information on the Sherman Brothers who created the song for many of Disney's movies, such as what inspired the lyrics for 'Let's Go Fly a Kite' from Mary Poppins. It, also, highlights many other writers, performers, sports men and women, professional business people and those who serve and uplift.. This book doesn't stop there... Many other successful people of various occupations are highlighted in very short stories, 100 of them!

There are many helpful tips intermingled within the ten sections. Encouragement and inspiration is in every part of this book. It urges young children and older youth to "Dream" and ways to  approach fulfilling those dreams.

The author has been very thorough in creating this book, yet the scenarios are short and motivating.

I offer a Five Stars rating for this book.
*This book was gifted me with no pressure to post a positive review. This is my honest review.

  GUEST POST

Holly A. Sharp uses short stories to help parents inspire their kids during Covid-19.

I am a new mother who was unemployed in the third trimester of my pregnancy. This gave me time to think a lot about the things I wanted for my new baby. Books were one of those things. I tried to find a book about career choices for kids and came up a bit empty handed.
Dream It & Do it is a collection of 100 short stories about modern day role models. Each story features a different career path. These two-paged stories make for easy “reading recesses” and activities that kids can do at home. This idea of “reading recess” helps kids take needed breaks that fuel more focused learning.
According to a 2016 study out of Carnegie Melon, small, but frequent breaks actually make it easier for elementary school kids to focus on the task at hand. Parents with kids who are distance learning have been asking for ways to help their kids take these short breaks from screen time or to have something for them to do if they are a “fast finisher”. Two paged short stories are a great way to do both.
In addition to “reading recess, “there are a lot of ways that parents can use this book to support at-home learning.
Activities that fuel interests: Each story ends with a suggested activity that kids can do to learn more about that specific career.
Discussions at Dinnertime: If kids are using the short stories during the day as a way to take quick breaks or when they finish before other students, use the book as a discussion starter over dinner. Who did they learn about today? What did they like about the job they learned about? Could they ever see themselves doing this job?
Learning Supplements: Discuss what topics they are learning and read stories together at bedtime that relates back to the subjects that kids are studying. Help them to see how the subjects they are learning about today, lead to the real world careers that people are doing today.
Each book covers careers in the arts, sciences, technology, service, business and product development. There is certain to be one job that might start inspire your child to not just have a dream, but to go out and do it.

Meet the Author:

Sharp spent the bulk of her career in new product development—dreaming up intuitive ideas from how to kill bugs to new ice cream forms to hit grocery shelves. A self-proclaimed problem-solver, she loves to think about the things that the world needs and figuring out how to make those things come to life. “Knowing in high school what I wanted to do with my life set me up for the right path. I wanted the same for my child and searched for books to guide her, but came up short,” Sharp said. “That’s when I thought, ‘why not write the book for my child that she needs and that will also help others?”
