REVIEW by LAWonder10:
This is a quality made book, with heavy weight pages and secure binding.
The watercolor illustrations, by Catarina Oliveira, are large, brightly colored, and has cartoonlike
characters. The emotions in the faces are very well portrayed.
The author has done a very good job in addressing the different types of love we can feel. It can assist in a child searching for sources of love, especially helpful if the security of love is not felt.
The couple of issues i had with the story is:
#1. Most families in mcuh of the world, do not gather at the table for meals and discuss the days events.
#2. Although it points out a way to overcome feelings of disappointment, I feel it doesn't center enough on positive interactions with other than close friends and family. Caution need to be taken in becoming close to others, yet praise and frendship from others can illustrate love many have for chidren and humanity.
It is a very positive book and each page asks a question for interacting with the kistenes and/or reader. It also reemphasises the point made and also offeres a wway of coping when things don't goas the child desires.
This is a perfect book for a Summer Reading Program or for a teacher to interact with the young students.
I recommend this for older Toddlers and Elementary Age children.
I offer a Four and a Half Stars rating
This boook was gifted me with no pressure for a positive review. This is my honest review.
