His siblings had all been taken aay somewhere. Now the was humans taking him away, too! The man didn't look or act nice toward him. The little boy and girl seemed nice enough. However, when he arrived at the house, they put him in a closed yard with an old blanket and that was all! Many events happen in the first two years of his sad, lonely life, culminating with him bing taken to the animal shelter. Was he going to die? After being very anxious and unable to eat or sleep, Max was saved!! This is a bittersweet tale of one dogs life which is a partially, all too familiar, a tale of what happens to do many animals. It, also, is a story one can relate to human experiences as well, making good discussion topics. As with her other awesome books in the series, Sunny Weber has effectively captured her reader's undivided interest. This is a series which I highly recommend to all elementary, middle grade and teenaged students. I suggest to parents/educators to make this a part of family/group reading. The characters are depicted in a very humanizing way and feel real.. The scenes are described in a way they are easily visualized. The Book Cover Image and title are eye-catching and will appeal to "the browser". I offer a Five Stars rating. *This book was gifted me with no pressure for a positive review.
