Meet Mike Alger:
Mike Alger is an American certified Meteorologist. Mike worked at KNDU-TV in Washington. Mike has provided northern Nevada with “Weather Coverage You Can Trust” during the 1990 President’s Day Blizzard, the mid-90s drought, the 1997 New Year’s Flood, and the historic snowstorms of 2005. Alger joined KTVN-TV in May 1989. He has received the Associated Press Best Weathercast Award in 1995, as well as the Radio and Television News Directors Association Best Weathercast Award in 1994, 1995, 1996, 1998, and 2001 for his outstanding weather coverage. Mike was a consulting meteorologist for the Nevada Department of Transportation’s road sensor program. He served on the boards of the Animal Ark and the Reno/Sparks Crisis Center.
