REVIEW By LAWonder10:
This is a somewhat whimsical story. I am uncertain whether or not it is a wise one.

An older Brother is often irritated with his little sister. The solution to his problem is not the best!

The story is simple enough for ages 3-5, yet fun enough for ages 3-8.

The Illustrator, Tristin Tate, created the images in cartoon characterization. The images are bright and colorful. Young children will surely find them entertaining .
The Book is a quality hardcover, with good quality pages.

I offer a Four Stars rating.
*This book was gifted me with no pressure for a positive review. This is my honest review.

Tips on Dealing with Sibling Rivalry – by Adam Kargman

Abracadabra Whoopsie deals with the issue of sibling rivalry. In it, a young boy named Jordy doesn’t get along with his toddler sister, Keeka. She breaks his things, disrupts his playtime, and steals the attention of adults. One night, Jordy receives a magic wand that will make Keeka disappear whenever he wants when he utters the words “Abracadabra Whoopsie.” When he is ready for her to come back, all he needs to do is say it reversed: “Whoopsie Abracadabra.” At last, Jordy can finally play in peace! But when the wand is stolen, Jordy must recover it if he ever hopes to see Keeka again. In the process, he discovers how much he really loves his little sister.
Abracadabra Whoopsie was inspired by my son and daughter’s interactions. Even though my kids are usually best friends, like all siblings, they have disagreements and conflicts. As a parent, I’ve learned, and my book teaches, that one of the ways of dealing with moments of anger and jealously is to remind siblings of all the happy times they’ve shared together.
When my kids fight, my wife and I like to show them funny photos and videos of them interacting. Our walls are full of family photos, and we have a shelf devoted to family yearbooks in our den, which my kids love perusing through. It’s hard to stay mad at someone when you’re constantly reminded of your history of joyous times together.
I think Abracadabra Whoopsie is very meaningful for kids because of the change that Jordy undergoes. Although he begins from a place of annoyance and jealousy, he ultimately has to rise to the occasion and save his little sister, which he is able to do only after remembering their happy moments together. The book offers a powerful message about looking at the larger picture for anybody who has a sibling.

REVIEW By LAWonder10:
This is a wonderful book for infantile geniuses. The book begins with the first letter of the alphabet and ends with Z. The terms are very scientific and are very simply written. The pictures are colorful and brilliant. The illustrations are very professional and seem to come alive on each page!

The book is made of high quality cardboard so toddlers cannot easily destroy it... However, this is the only problem I find with it. The book is created with a toddler in mind, yet the wording is very advanced for a average child in that age range. Even for early elementary ages, the wording is very advanced. Even at my age, I learned a few terms and their meaning!

It is a very appealing book for anyone's collection!

I offer a Four Stars rating.

What inspired you to write this book?
When my first daughter turned one year old in 2018, I wanted to add STEM books to her bookshelf, but I found that there were not many chemistry-related books available for babies and toddlers. I majored in chemistry in college and got an advanced degree in it – I also married a chemical engineer – so science is in my daughter’s bones. I found an array of children’s science books but they did not focus on chemistry. I noticed a void and I knew I wanted to fill it.
I had my first idea for creating a chemistry alphabet book in 2016 but did not make much progress on it until 2018. I have written scientific papers before but writing children-book level science was way different for me – there was such a big learning curve!
My books have very engaging and they have colorful, fun illustrations that children love, which really draws kids into the book. Each page of my book have a different science concept on it and it is explained in a way that children can understand and the pictures are drawn in a way to make the concept relatable to children – making hard concepts relatable to children is the hardest and most important part and I think my books achieve that.
I love writing my science books because they expose children to different areas of science and my goal is to get children excited about science. My hope is that my books are so fun to read that kids do not even realize how much they are learning. Introducing science ideas in books help familiarize children to abstract concepts and then they do not seem as obscure when they encounter them in their school’s curriculum.
My goal as an author is to encourage people to learn more about science – whether as an adult or child. They are reading my book to read things that they usually do not read about and if they happen to find that they like what they are reading, I achieved my main goal – to spark an interest in science

When Christi Sperber was pregnant with her first daughter, Emma, she wanted to add STEM books to Emma’s bookshelf. But the Mom who has a Master’s in Chemistry noticed that there weren’t many chemistry-related books available for babies and toddlers. The few that did exist, she noticed, weren’t factually correct. That’s when Sperber had an idea: launch her own publishing company - Nanoscale Scientists Publishing LLC – to introduce young kids to the wonderful world of science at an early age.

REVIEW By LAWonder10:
Never before had Nick Saint considered the
anomaly of his name, until one day he got a letter in the mail addressed to Saint Nick. At first furious, his wise mother suggested he "take a different path" with his emotions.

This is a children's book with a much needed message. Although the writing isn't the greatest, the message makes up for any lack in grammatical efficiency. It is truly a book needed i homes and classrooms. Even better...It has a Christmas theme!

Illustrator, Charlene Mosley, has created colorful, cartoon-like, simple illustrations which are eye-catching and aids in keeping very young children's interest.

I offer a Four Stars rating.

After graduating from Bennett, she earned a master’s degree and a law degree from the University of Louisville. REVIEW By LAWonder10:
The neighbor is upset cause there is a Goose on the Loose on top of the little girl's house. What can she do? Where will she get help?
This is a fun, fantastical story on the antics from the strange sources she sought for help.

The illustrations done by Martina Terzi are simple, big, colorful and fum! It is a tale toddlers and young elementary age students will surely enjoy.
The rhyming needs work and some situations are slightly extreme. I would hope no child would take it literally.

I offer a Four Stars rating for this Book.

REVIEW By LAWonder10:
This is a cute story of work in an office setting, which will show small children the confusion parents often have at work, yet offers a message on how being an unique individual brings success.

The rhyming is done quite well and is an entertaining tale. However, a few sentences didn't rhyme very well and a few places, the rhythm was slightly off and didn't flow smoothly.
The illustrations by Devan, were done simple but very well. The images were colorful and the facial expressions were clear.
The Title was chosen well. The cover is eye-catching but slightly confusing as t why the animals are upside down.
I offer a Four and a Half Stars rating.

  GUEST POST!

My English Teacher Would Hate My Books By Sarah Sommer

I learned a mouthful of a word in high school English class that has always stuck with me: anthropomorphism. It refers to a writing style where humanlike characteristics are applied to animals or objects. My English teacher taught me to never do this. Ever.
Flash forward to today and all three of my picture books use this technique. I love writing about animals as if they had human characteristics and personalities, and it has effectively become my special writing style. If my English teacher were to see the books, she would likely get her red pen out and tell me to start over.
I feel empathetic toward animals because they can’t speak for themselves. The wild ones live a difficult life just trying to stay alive, and the domesticated ones are fully dependent on humans to survive. My books are a chance to tell their stories using human scenarios and stories.
Throughout my life, I have been exposed to a number of rescue-type situations. When I was a small child, my father stopped a scenic tour on a vacation in order to save a wild bird trapped in a wire fence. My family pets were all rescue dogs that my mother had brought home from abandonment situations. And at thirteen, I learned about factory farms and the vegetarian diet while away at a music camp and haven’t wavered from that diet since. As an adult, I started fostering dogs, which only increased my sense of compassion for animals. All of my foster dogs had been neglected and were in need of medical attention.
These experiences led me to want to incorporate animals into my picture book stories, and as primary characters as well. My first book, The Goose on the Roof, is loosely inspired by that moment on vacation where my dad rescued the bird, and my third book, My Cat is Blue (currently in illustrations), discusses the theme of losing a pet and gives a nod to the efforts of the rescue community, which is a reflection of my fostering experiences. I always try to maintain the natural characteristics of the animal characters I’ve chosen and then blend those traits into a humanlike personality that would make sense. For example, the dog character in Animals at the Office is obedient, loves structure, is always happy to do her job, and never takes a sick day. I chose the dog very carefully for this personality because I wanted to make sure it was believable as both an animal and a human. I even have little bits of “dog” in my own work personality.
While I sometimes envision my high school English teacher cringing at my books, I’ve chosen to continue to use anthropomorphism because it reflects my background, my interests, and my writing style. After all, the animals deserve a voice too.

Book Description:
Yummy Me Feels So Good isn't just another story book. It is something you can use with your kids and grandkids for many years. Simple and childlike, kids identify with the gentle creatures within. Absolutely beautiful, Yummy Me is a genius way of helping children immediately connect with the world of emotions through enchanting animal friends. The images and words are so simple and therefore can be grasped by children and adults of all ages. The book can easily open up space for a dialogue about emotions between an adult and a child, all the whie being playfully disguised as animal talk. Children laugh and grimace as they flip through the pages, mirroring the emotions they feel on the pages. Yummy Me is a great doorway to explore the sometimes difficult arena of emotions, both for children, teachers and parents.
Rather than labeling certain emotions as "good" or "bad", these emotions simply get space to be as they are, and encourage the reader to remember that they too will pass. The final message of the book that we are in fact "none of these" me's is a loving reminder that at any moment we can start our day again from joy. "I have seen firsthand how taking out this book can transform a child's tantrum into a smile and eventually bursts of laughter.

Review by LAWonder10:
Comical and colorful pictures by talented illustrator,
Inna Chernyak, are very large, yet detailed which "little ones" are sure to be captivated by. The lift up flaps are a little hard to discover when using it for the first time. Be sure to look for the little semi-circle indentation on each page to gain an additional image on each page of verse.

This is a very cute, rhyming story, making a point to relate the thought hat Santa does'nt forget those who are unique ito society.

This is a quality board book.
I offer a Five Stars rating.

REVIEW by LAWonder10:
This is a fun, Halloween book for pre-school and early elementary school-age children. I found the flaps slightly difficult to find, but each page had one, and there are very small semi-circle indentations to lift each one. After the first time opening them, they are easily discovered. The clever Illustrations by Clever Publishing staff, are colorful, comical, and the flaps blend into the picture very well. Each page has a fun image under the flap to enhance the enjoyment of each rhyming verse.

The book is a high quality board book and would be a grat gift, a wonderful additions to any library!

This earns a Five Stars rating.

Meet the author:
Aspiring contemporary ballerina, commercial poet, grateful wife and mother. Certified Life Coach, BA Finance, MA Statistics ( don't judge, I was young ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ), now IT Product Manager. When I was pregnant with my now 3 y/o boy, I was worried of how I can raise my child to cope in a world of bullying, peer pressure, substance abuse, screen time etc. My husband told me that if we want our son to thrive in this world, all we need to do is build his self confidence & firm limits. So that's how I started reading parenting books, and read a lot. I read tons of books on the latest research discoveries in interpersonal biology and brain development. I love anything that Daniel J Siegel ever wrote. I am also a fan of "How to talk so kids would listen" by Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish.
For "Matt's swirly world," I worked with a psychologist who specialized in child development and attachment parenting. That's because, I am above all, convinced of the immense potential every child has and their absolute innocence. I know from experience that raising kids can often feel quite differently, and challenging. I am convinced that the way to turn that potential into peaceful family lives and well balanced kids - is both intuition and science (and patience). Being emotionally available as a parent, being present for them and for yourself, to keep your own emotional highs & lows in check. Because they are good at triggering us, aren't they? When I was 8, I had no money to buy my mother gifts; I really wanted to create joy in her heart, so I started dedicating poems to her. That's what got me started writing.

  • Journey through the Book of Mormon with beloved characters like Lehi, Nephi, Ammon, and Captain Moroni. From Lehi's departure from Jerusalem to Moroni's golden plates, this engaging, rhyming book introduces children to the major stories of the Book of Mormon. Help your children develop a love for the scriptures from a young age with this adorable board book.

My Review: (LAWonder10)
This is a very colorful and well illustrated book for pre-school to Kindergarten age.
It has simply stated messages, identifying various Latter-Day Saint prophets from the Book of Mormon.
This is a wonderful book for quiet time and will assist in keeping one's toddlers occupied without taking away from the Sabbath on Sundays.
The only real problem I had with it is the title. It centers on prophets beginning with Lehi but has little to do with him and what he sees..

I offer a Four Stars rating.
