Tora: The myth that women are naturally more nurturing It is a notion often pressed onto women through the harmful effects of benevolent sexism.
Mars: The myth that we are born “lesser” in some way because of our womanhood and other personal identities that intersect with and inform our experiences with gender.
Paige: The myth that women--and this is especially in respect to marginalized women--are “already treated equally.” It’s tough to fix a problem when people deny that it exists.

MEET The CHARACTERS
As an avid reader I always enjoy a good character blurb, so naturally I had to write some of my own (spoiler free) for my Mystic Invisible crew:
Monte Darrow: Witty, awkward, and lovable, Monte is finally of age in the Mystic world. Then his family moves to Scotland where unrest runs high and danger lurks around every corner. And oh yeah, the use of magic is forbidden, a perfect recipe for teenage boredom. But that doesn't stop him from finding adventure and getting into a little (or a lot) of trouble along the way. While I love all my characters, there's a very endearing quality about Monte, with maybe just a small dose of angst. He’s the POV character for Mystic Invisible so I guess this relationship makes sense! Think of him as a hybrid between Percy Jackson and Peter Parker.
Garrick Darrow: Sturdy, athletic, and intelligent, Garrick has as much might as Monte has courage. Best friend and older brother to Monte, he is a good companion if not a little uptight. He's not sure what to think of Scotland. The enchanting country has a lot to offer, but will it be too much for him? Garrick is the serious and protective older brother; the “quiet one” with many dreams and ambitions. While I wouldn’t consider myself quite as bold or uptight as he is, we still share many of the same personality traits.
Cameron Basu: Smart, mysterious, and painfully quiet, Cameron keeps everyone guessing. It's quite possible she holds the information that the others are seeking but it's all about keeping her around long enough to get the answers. Cameron holds a special place in my heart. I feel a very motherly protection towards her, although she’s a tough one and can certainly hold her own. I love her silent strength that shines through in some very unique (if not sometimes frustrating) ways.
Finn Cornelius Smith: Curious and hungry for adventure, Finn is a bit of a troublemaker. The ultimate sidekick, he is a loyal friend and will stick with you even when things get dire. He's always up for some fun and still manages to get into plenty of mischief despite his Nanny's watchful eye and her rather extreme opinions. You can’t help but love Finn. He’s funny and wild and definitely keeps you on your toes. He’s the “baby” of the bunch but don’t let his younger age fool you: he’s got as much gumption as the other three put together!
About the Author
Ryder Hunte Clancy has lived most of her life in the desert but her heart belongs to the sea; her happy place, where brine and mist abound and allusive waves caress expansive stretches of compacted sand. A tried and true stay-at-home mom, she has just as much trouble keeping up with her fictional, teenage characters as she does her three small children. Mystic Invisible is her debut novel, the inspiration of which was gleaned from her husband’s homeland of Scotland, where fantasy, mystery, and folklore are rich and hints of adventure linger around every corner.

A Divine Conspiracy (A Divine Conspiracy #1)
By Tom Bruner
Christian Young Adult Fantasy
Paperback & ebook, 297 Pages ~ February 15, 2021
It’s a new world for the first fifty, ever-created, Angels.
They have been brought to life for one reason. To fight evil. But no one knows what evil is or where it's going to come from. The story takes place in Heaven another newly created estate, under construction as the Angels begin training, under the watchful eye of the Archangel, Michael, to become Guardians on a yet to be created planet called Earth. Heaven is something to behold. The Angels are mystified as they take their first tour through the new city. Incredible architecture (Skyscrapers made of seashells and white sand), birds of every color (Golden Eagles), and a city made of libraries (For those who like to read), are just a few of the sights the Angel's experience.
We follow Adlay, one of the Angels, from his first breath, through extensive physical training, his Humanities class with Jesus, and his Worship class with a beautiful Angel named Lucifer, who immediately gives Adlay a foreboding feeling. The Angels work hard for months to improve and graduate from training. Adlay excels above everybody else in training but quickly discovers Lucifer is planning something. What he finds out, makes him question if he actually knows what is right or wrong. As the Angels near their big day, Adlay must make a difficult choice. Does he care only about graduating and moving on or does he risk everything to discover if Lucifer and evil are synonymous.

Chapter 1: Creation, continued...
The giant, Michael, continued, “We will begin today by walking a little bit. You just woke up a few minutes ago, let’s get the blood flowing. You will be stepping outside soon where you will see and experience a place called Heaven for the first time. Heaven is unlike any other place. Anywhere. Ever. It is truly one of a kind. And even though your brains might say that some of this couldn’t be possible, it is.”
Adlay hadn’t been anywhere, so that’s okay. Heaven would be his first stop on his life’s journey. He smiled.
Michael said, “Most of you have been given human ways of thinking in addition to your knowledge. The human logic side of you will absolutely rebel against what you are going to see and witness. Not in a bad way, but in a “that can’t be happening” way. This place was built by God, as a reward for those that will love him and serve him. When I say those, I am talking about humans, which are yet to be created but will soon be. They will reside initially on a planet called Earth, a long way from here.” He paused, making sure he had everyone’s attention.
“In short, humans will go through their short lives with a choice of whether to believe or not believe in God. One of our jobs will be to protect these people," He looked out over the Angels, “I might be getting ahead of myself, seeing as you are new to all of this, but I wanted to emphasize the importance of our mission. It is an honor to be in your position, and it is certainly an honor to be leading you.”
“How could people not believe in God?” an Angel asked from the front of the group.
“That is an excellent question,” Michael eyed the Angel, “Apparently, the concept of a thing called evil will also be introduced to humanity which is where we come in.”
“What is evil?” barked an Angel in back.
Michael held his hands up. “I got a little long-winded, I’ve given you too much. Let’s just enjoy our first day together. You will be learning a lot more going forward. I apologize ahead of time, but some of it will be repetitive, I promise you will have plenty of time to become familiar with your responsibilities and duties once you are settled into your housing. I will answer all your questions by the end of the day as best I can. I don’t know everything. So don’t get frustrated. No, scratch that. You can get frustrated; just don’t take it out on anyone.”
That seemed to quiet the Angels a bit. “Why don’t we move outside and see what you think?” Michael asked.

ABOUT The AUTHOR:
Tom Bruner appreciates books. Over one thousand read. Really. Growing up in Southern California, Tom has had a passion for reading books since his early teens. It’s all about the story is what he believes. Tired of the same vanilla spoonful every time he opened a Christian Fiction book, he decided to write, A Divine Conspiracy. This book is set in the newly created estate of Heaven. It tells the story of the creation and training of the first Angels ever to be. We follow Adlay, a newly created Angel from his first breath, through physical training and classes with Jesus and Lucifer until the day Heaven falls apart. It packs a punch. There is not a dull moment.
Tom considers taking a motley group of boys from the 7th grade through the graduation of high school with Lifegroup a church program to be his greatest accomplishment so far. That and U.S. Air Force Basic Training. That and fraternity initiation. Oh, and running a marathon without training. The boys and Tom met once a week throughout each school year. Spending six years with the same boys going through that period of their life a great adventure. Tom, an avid Christian, volunteers on Sundays at his church in the junior high ministry. Please pray for him.
Tom is a Southern California guy through and through. He loves the beach and writing books. A Divine Conspiracy is the first book in a trilogy. Tom hopes to have the second book out in six months.

BOOK REVIEW by LAWonder10:
From the first riveting page to the last, 'The Connection' captivates the reader's interest which increases as the momentum builds. Then, it all comes together in the final two pages.
This is a sci-fi like none other I have read. It is an intriguing tale of, seemingly, friendly relationships between Earth and the planet Ferro. It is of necessity that both planet leaders work together or be doomed to destruction.
This story has some similarities to Stephanie Meyer's 'Twilight series, yet is still very different.
The ending is profound and complete, if there is to be a sequel. Otherwise, it is a cliffhanger, causing the reader to feel the story is incomplete.
The characters are very interesting and well-developed. The scenes are well defined. It is easy for the reader to feel apart of the story.
I offer a Five Stars rating.
*This book was gifted me, with no pressure for a positive review. This is my honest review.
What process do you go through in creating visual background scenes to involve your audience the feeling they are in the story?
I use the same process to create visual background scenes that I use to build a brand-new concept. By developing a reference sheet that includes aesthetics by broad strokes, the current climate, clothing, and cuisine of my novel’s world, I narrow down the details of my landscapes allowing the reader to feel as if they are physically there.
As most people, I’m a visual person so I’ll print images off Pinterest, Instagram or Google and hang them on the wall above my computer as I type to inspire my words. By using these visual guides, I’m reminded of where my characters are and what they are feeling in their environment hoping this translates to my audience. I’ll break down the natural ecosystem and animal life including agriculture, livestock, and weather. I’ll create politics, culture, and economic hierarchy.
All of these factors contribute to the setting and are important for the reader to feel immersed in my innovative world. When a reader is emotionally tied to the story, they hold the characters and plot in their hearts long after the last page is turned, and the book closed. I don’t just want my reader to fall in love with my characters, I want them to believe and feel as if they are there for the journey and experiencing all of the aesthetics.
About Dana Claire
Author, Dana Claire, believes that a good story is made through strong character development. When readers become attached to the characters’ emotional state and are invested in their objectives, the readers are there for the long haul backing the characters and their emotions. How cool is it to read a book and think about the characters long after you’ve read the last page? She believes that the beauty of reading is that one can live a hundred lives within the stories of books.
If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to be a vampire, slay a dragon, or use a time machine, there’s a book for that.

Review by LAWonder10:
Down World is a mesmerizing, suspenseful, and innovative new trilogy for Young Adults, yet Adults will surely love it, too!
In her debut novel, Rebecca Phelps has proven herself an accomplished writer, as effective as most "seasoned" writers. Down World is a fascinating story about a very mysterious and restrictive place, discovered by teens who reside in an old military town. The military base has been made in to a High School with a very unusual floor plan. Below it exists a very peculiar, addictive place. It seems fun and harmless at first, but that is just a pretense of reality. Nobody seems to understand the hidden danger.
The characters are endearing and well-portrayed. The scenes allows the reader to feel a part of the adventures. The intrigue builds and continues to become more intense as the tale comes to a compelling end. The ending is complete, yet leaves the reader wanting more. The Title is perfect but the Cover image is not very eye-catching.
This would make a wonderful movie series.
I offer a Five Stars rating
