Genres: Fantasy, Young Adult

Synopsis:

In the city of Craewick, memories reign. The power-obsessed ruler of the city, Madame, has cultivated a society in which memories are currency, citizens are divided by ability, and Gifted individuals can take memories from others through touch as they please.
Seventeen-year-old Etta Lark is desperate to live outside of the corrupt culture, but grapples with the guilt of an accident that has left her mother bedridden in the city’s asylum. When Madame threatens to put her mother up for auction, a Craewick practice in which a “criminal’s” memories are sold to the highest bidder before being killed, Etta will do whatever it takes to save her. Even if it means rejoining the Shadows, the rebel group she swore off in the wake of the accident years earlier.
To prove her allegiance to the Shadows and rescue her mother, Etta must steal a memorized map of the Maze, a formidable prison created by the bloodthirsty ruler of a neighboring Realm. Chasing Beverly - Ashlynn Cubbison

This is totally an awesome story. There is so much depth in the lives of Beverly and Gavin. I was so enjoying this story when it came to an end, I was like, no no no no, that can't be it!
All the characters are well-developed. There is a great deal of emotion throughout the story and it is easy to feel each emotions they go through.
The title of the book and cover are a perfect match for the story.
I highly recommend this book to others who like intense reading and a great romance story.
     I give t a literary rating of 5/5

by Jill Criswell
Publication date: August 6th 2019 | Genres: Fantasy, Young Adult
Synopsis:
Burn brightly. Love fiercely. For all else is dust.
Every child of Glasnith learns the last words of Aillira, the god-gifted mortal whose doomed love affair sparked a war of gods and men, and Lira of clan Stone knows the story better than most. As a descendant of Aillira and god-gifted in her own right, she has the power to read people’s souls, to see someone’s true essence with only a touch of her hand.
When a golden-haired warrior washes up on the shores of her homeland–one of the fearful marauders from the land of the Frozen Sun–Lira helps the wounded man instead of turning him in. After reading his soul, she realizes Reyker is different than his brethren who attack the coasts of Glasnith. He confides in her that he’s been cursed with what his people call battle-madness, forced to fight for the warlord known as the Dragon, a powerful tyrant determined to reignite the ancient war that Aillira started.
As Lira and Reyker form a bond forbidden by both their clans, the wrath of the Dragon falls upon them and all of Glasnith, and Lira finds herself facing the same tragic fate as her ancestor. The battle for Lira’s life, for Reyker’s soul, and for their peoples’ freedom has only just begun.

Beasts of The Frozen Sun - Jill Criswell
A very impassioned story. So much happening at all times in the story, it was impossible to put it down.
The characters are well-developed. Each one has a specific personality and role in their lives. I liked getting to know Reyker and Lira. They have a beautiful connection.
The story flows well from chapter to chapter and is easy to follow along.
I recommend this book to others.

Instead, she is intelligent, meek, and an exceptional artist. Despite her seeming goodness, some more concerning things cannot be ignored. Samuel is hard-pressed to reconcile her uncanny strength and speed, one missing arm, ambiguous gender, and the mysterious scars covering most of her body.

As their friendship threatens to become something more, Samuel discovers the mayor’s dark intentions. Now, he must decide whether to risk his own execution by setting her free, or watch as the girl is used as a pawn in a dangerous game of oppression, fear, and murder.

                                             Excerpt – Portia Honeymoon
Tempest stands before me in our hidden corner of the lake. Water runs in rivulets down his bare chest. Every cell in my body calls me closer to my Rhana.
        My mate.

I step nearer. With each movement, my bare feet sink into the loose pebbles of the lakebed. I pause. Only inches separate us now. The warmth from Tempest’s body radiates into my own.
My core heats. One thought overtakes me.
       This is it. The moment.

Lifting my arm, I reach for Tempest. Water droplets glide down my skin. I rest my cool hand against the heat of Tempest’s cheek. The rough stubble of his skin prickles my palm. With the slightest of movements, Tempest leans into my touch. His gaze mixes quiet reverence with intense desire.

Going up on tiptoe, I bring my mouth closer to Tempest’s. He leans forward, closing the distance. A breath of air is all that separates our lips. Yet Tempest isn’t pressing to touch.

This is my choice. My word.

I gently brush my mouth against his. Tempest’s lips are soft and firm
; bolts of desire move through me. I caress the seam of his mouth with my tongue. The movement is like taking a sledge hammer to a porcelain wall. The barrier between us ruptures. Waves of desire break loose.
Tempest cups my face in his hands. Our kiss turns fierce. The emperor glides his hands down my neck, shoulders and back.
Next he presses at the base of my spine, bringing our bodies together. The firm lines of his stomach … the hefty strength of his arms … the long ropes of muscle in his thighs … everywhere our bodies touch, there’s a spark of recognition and desire.
What happens next isn’t a conscious thought. On instinct, I wrap my legs around Tempest’s waist while looping my arms around his neck. The need to share my body with him turns stronger. Between rough kisses, Tempest whispers an incantation. The language is unfamiliar, but the rough and gritty
sound tell me he’s speaking in a dragon tongue. Somewhere in the back of my mind, I’m aware that the air now holds the unmistakable zing of magic.
        Tempest is casting a spell.

The Undoing by Dessarae K. Shepston - Review by LAWonder10 !

A fresh take on a dystopian storyline, The Undoing is a page-turner with unforgettable characters and an intriguing plot that will keep you hooked from beginning to end.

THE UNDOING: A Young Adult Dystopian Scifi Novel (Book 1 of The Undoing Trilogy) by Desserae Shepston
344 pages | Published February 25th 2019
SYNOPSIS:
Rebecca stared hard into the darkness, barely able to make out the outline of the mountain from the light of the moon. She thought about what was behind that mountain. She knew who lived out that way. That was ranchland, worked by the parents of a boy she went to school with. He was a year older than her. Daniel Morgan. She didn't know him other than to recognize him in passing in the halls. He was one to notice. Jet black hair. Green eyes. Gentle smile. Tall and lean and just so perfectly muscular from helping on the ranch. But. He was off-limits. He was of a different social Tier, and those lines could not be crossed. Council was quite clear on this...
Rebecca glanced at her watch. It felt like she'd been waiting for much more than the three minutes that had passed since she first came to the window. 1:59 a.m. Her eyes shifted back to the darkness and the ghost of a mountain in the distance, just as a change started to occur. Jonathan was right...

REVIEW by LAWonder10:
The Undoing is a fast-paced Dystopia novel that is outlandish, yet not really that far-fetched.

Rebecca's brother died of the strange virus killing many people. Heartbroken, she had spent the last few minutes of his life with him. He whispered a brief, confusing statement before his final breath.

Rebecca's parents worked for the government. Everyone was carefully monitored. She was curious but if she was caught "snooping" by "the Council", not only her life, but her parents lives, also, was at stake. Still, she was driven, because of her brother's dying wish.

The action is non-stop and the characters disturbing, but possible.

Not knowing who to trust, Rebecca must make some very serious choices.

The characters were described in a way they were easily visualized. The scenes were vividly portrayed through graphic wording. The Book Cover and Title were simple but very eye-catching.

The ending was complete, yet left the reader eager for more.

I offer a Five Stars rating for this novel.
*This book was gifted me with no request for a positive review. This is my honest review.

    TEASERS...

"Listen, Becs. Listen closely. I know this is scary to hear, but you have to hear it. Council is up to something. They know what is going on and they are choosing not to do anything about it. This isn't a normal virus we are dealing with. It is an attack on our city..."
"You can do this, Becs. You are smart enough to figure this out. You're much smarter than I was your age. You've got a mind for solving problems. You can solve this one." He had yet again read her mind. And probably the look on her face, as well. She was always so transparent...
Pulling herself out of her memories and peeling her eyes from the mountain and the strange glow, Rebecca made her way quietly back to her room, crawled into bed, and stared at the ceiling, looking for guidance in the darkness. Looking for a way out, though she knew there was none. She had to climb a mountain

Raised by witches and dragons in the northern wilds, GIE writes angsty urban fantasy YA romance–where girls who are mortal enemies kick butt, take names, and fall in love against all odds. She enjoys long hikes in the woods (where better to find the fair folk?), believing in fairies (in fact, she’s clapping right now), dancing with dark elves (always wear your best shoes), being a self-rescuing princess (hello, black belt!), and writing diverse books about teenage girls finding love, romance, and their own inner power.
She might be planning high tea at the Fae Court right now.
GIE is multi-published, and in her role as an editor has helped hundreds of authors make their dream of being published a reality.

Synopsis:

Reid has spent her whole life pretending to be a man so she can inherit her father’s estate, but when a chance encounter threatens to expose her lie, she is forced to risk everything.
In the kingdom of Marsden, women are subservient to men and land can only pass from father to son. So when Reid Ellington is born, the fifth daughter to one of the wealthiest landholders in the kingdom, it’s announced that Reid is a boy.
Eighteen years later, Reid struggles to conceal the fact she’s actually a young woman. Every day, her secret becomes harder to keep. When one of Marsden’s princes sees her sparring with a sword, she is forced to accept his offer and lead her father’s soldiers to the border. Along the way, she discovers a covert organization within the army known as the Knights of the Realm. If Reid wants to save her family from being arrested for treason and robbed of their inheritance, she will have to join the Knights and become a weapon for the crown.

Realm of Knights - Jennifer Anne Davis
I absolutely love this story. The suspense is gripping. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
The characters are well-developed. Lady Reid is so flexible in all she has to do. Prince Ackley is a puzzle that keeps you guessing as is his sister, Idina.
The setting is well defined. I like the differences from county to county.
I highly recommend this book to others. It is very well written. It flows well from chapter to chapter and is easy to follow along.
I give it a literary rating of 5/5

Publication date: September 9th 2019 | Genres: Fantasy, Young Adult
Synopsis:No women. No children. No torture. The Huntsman has his rules.
For years, Tobin has done his emperor’s bidding, eliminating threats to the Empire of Morvansk. But when he is ordered to kill the lovely Princess Mara, Tobin’s absolute loyalty ends. The emperor’s punishment is swift and lethal, and Tobin is left with only one desire: vengeance.
Stay quiet. Stay hidden. Stay free. These are the rules Ever lives by.

When Ever’s mirror shows the wounded rebel huntsman approaching her village, she’s compelled to help him. But as Tobin and Ever grow closer, and their secrets intertwine, they’ll have to follow the rules they’ve always lived by—or break free from them, once and for all.

Stuck with You by Christina Mandelski
Publication Date: September 2, 2019| Publisher: Entangled Teen Crush
SYNOPSIS:
When Caleb Gray heads to the Texas coast to mentally prepare for a future he isn’t sure he wants, the last person he expects to see is Catie Dixon. Yeah, their mothers have been planning their wedding since they were born, but he and Catie are most definitely not friends. He can’t see her as anything but the annoying kid who followed him everywhere. Except, it’s really bothering him that everyone is staring at her in that bikini…
Catie got over her crush on Caleb ages ago. So why can’t she see past his ripped body or how unsettled he seems? She’s got her own problems, though. Her future has been set for years and now she’s dreaming of pulling the plug. A week at their families’ beach house is just what she needs to pull herself together, and she has no intention of letting Caleb back into her heart...which would be a whole lot easier if he’d put on a shirt.
But a forced week of togetherness full of beach parties, waterslide mishaps, bonfires, and roller coasters sparks more than an understanding. What do you do when the person standing in the way of your future is the one person you grew up hating...but now don’t?
