BOOK SUMMARY FOR KNIGHT MOVES:

My name is Angel Sinclair and I’m the youngest senior at a high school for technologically-gifted students. School bored me until my friends and I were unexpectedly tapped to try out for a top-secret spy academy. I’m not sure I have what it takes to be an operative for the U.S. government, but my friends and I are going to give it our best shot.

But first I have to go up against uber-skilled candidates who can do a thousand push-ups, kill a person with a fingernail file, and make handcuffs out of paper clips. My only defining skills are my mad hacking abilities and extreme awkwardness. I don’t know what kind of spy that would make me, but I’m not going down without a fight.

With my loyal friends by my side, we’re in a race to finish at the top of the class. Together we have the smarts…but we’ll have to battle our insecurities and work together or miss out on an adventure of a lifetime.

Knight Moves - Julie Moffett

As with the first book, White Knights, I think this story is awesome!
The story line is fun and intriguing.
I loved getting the new characters in the story and it was fun to follow Angel and her best friends throughout the new adventures.
The spy school for operatives is a novel idea. There was great
mystery and suspense all through the story.
The characters are well developed and it is easy to feel their emotions.
The book cover and title are a perfect match for the story.
     I highly recommend this book.
I give it a literary rating of 5/5

BOOK SUMMARY FOR WHITE KNIGHTS:

Geek Girls Rule!

My name is Angel Sinclair. I'm the youngest senior at Excalibur Academy for the Technologically Gifted and Talented in Washington, DC. I was pushed ahead a year because of my high IQ and considerable prowess behind the keyboard, making me an outcast even among my own peers. I've been looking for my dad all my life. A brilliant mathematician and cryptographer, he disappeared under mysterious circumstances when I was eighteen months old. Although my mom tells me I must put him in my past, it only makes me more determined to find out what happened to him. When weird accidents start happening at my school and the vice principal is involved in a deadly incident, I don't see it as a coincidence. After launching my own investigation, with the aid of an unexpected set of allies calling themselves the White Knights, I discover a threat far greater than I ever could have imagined. I could take my discoveries to the authorities, but my own investigative methods would be at risk. Can anyone say hacking? No, it's up to me to set things right. My goals are straightforward: clear the name of the vice principal, learn the truth about my father, and stay alive. In other words, save the day and don't look too much like a dork while doing it.

Archie of Outlandish by Lynnette Kraft - Review by LAWonder10!

Picture
Imagine living your entire life underneath umbrellas…
Archibald Plumby lives happily in the picturesque coastal town of Outlandish. He has loving parents, eats fine food at his mother’s cliffside restaurant, and spends his days on the beach and in the town’s quaint streets, in search of stories to write for his job at the local paper.
There is just one thing that makes Archie’s life a little less than ideal… he’s never been able to look up without having a panic attack.
As he turns twenty, he begins to wonder if his sheltered world might just have room for one more.
BRONZE WINNER, Romance
2018 Feathered Quill Book Awards

Archie of Outlandish includes a companion soundtrack (18 tracks) created by film/media composer, Jared Kraft. *Listen to a sample of the music.
Archie of Outlandish also displays a lovely variety of illustrations created by artist/illustrator, Abigail Kraft.
MY REVIEW:
This is an unusual story about a young man with an unusual condition... However, it is remarkable how he and his parents have learned to cope with it. If only more individuals and families would follow this example, the world would be a much better place.
Outlandish is an unusual small California town. This fantasy town is a very desirable environment to live in.
Read the pages and discover for yourself why others would want to live there and why Archie, although strange, has someone who would want more than friendship with him.
this novel is not only different and entertaining, it suggests an approach to life which is ideal. It, also, contains some inspiring messages.
There are attractive illustrations by the author's daughter and a sound tract composed by the authors son. I did not hear the sound tract, but only a sample, which was professionally and beautifully done.
I recommend this book for youth as well as adults. The characters are well-defined, enabling the reader to fells connected to them. The scenes are portrayed verbally, in addition to the occasional illustration.
The cover fit well, but the title would have been better if the "of"had been more defined. It was not a title or cover a "browser" such as i, would have been enticed by. That is a shame, because the message is profound and the book enjoyable.
rate it with Four Stars.
This was gifted to me with no suggestion I post a positive review. This is my honest review.

Lynnette Kraft loves a good story—real or imaginary, inspiring or hilarious. She uses her own stories to entertain, to illustrate lessons, and to celebrate individuality, crediting God as the giver of all inspiration. When she’s not writing (or telling) stories, she’s likely chewing on herbs and wild plants, doing yoga in the sunshine, admiring pieces of nature, reading something light, or watching movies and playing games with her family. When she’s doing regular stuff, like cooking dinner and sorting laundry, she’s also dreaming about living on the beach, because she’s a sensible dreamer.

My Brother’s Bride by Rachael Anderson

Abigail Nash leads a lonely existence. Her mother died giving birth to her, her father’s business dealings took him away more often than not, and her ailing great-aunt, unable to provide much in the way of companionship, was a lack-luster guardian at best. So when her dear friends offered to launch her into London society, it appeared Abby’s life was taking a turn for the better, with suitors and social engagements aplenty. When she marries a proclaimed darling of the ton, it seems she will at last settle into the life of her dreams.
But appearances aren’t always what they seem, and dreams often become disappointments.
Just months into her marriage, Abby finds herself widowed, penniless, increasing, and determined to never hope again. But when her late husband’s brother, the Earl of Brigston, attempts to thaw the numbness surrounding her heart, Abby must decide if she has it in her to risk another chance at happiness, knowing the odds are not in her favor.

My Brothers Bride - Rachael Anderson

I love this story. Abby and Brigston are awesome characters. Their
personalities complement each other.
I think Rachael rocked it with this story line. I have to admit, this is my most favorite genre.
The characters are all well-developed. I was so right there with them feeling
their emotions. One minute I was laughing and the next I was crying.
This is a great read and I highly recommend it to other readers.

I give it a literary rating of 5/5

I haven’t read a book by Rachael Anderson that I didn’t absolutely love and this awesome book didn’t fail to meet that grade. ~Vicki
Enjoyed reading this book. The characters, dialogue, and plotline kept me entertained. Highly recommend this book to those who enjoy clean romances. ~Michele
This is the first full-length novel I’ve read by Rachael Anderson, but it definitely won’t be the last. I really enjoyed the story–the writing was really good with no annoying parts or awkwardness, the plot was interesting, the characters were endearing (I loved the banter between Brigtson and Abby!), and this book was just really good. Highly enjoyable. Great choice for those who like clean, well-written Regency romances. ~AE2
This forbidden Regency romance was excellent! Once I started, it was hard—almost impossible—to put down. The characters—Abigail and Brigston—were super well done. I became invested in their lives, their troubles, their hearts really fast, and the author did a superb job of not letting me go. The plot twist was unique. ~Charissa
A lovely, well-written story. Highly recommended. ~Linda
I always enjoy Ms. Anderson’s books! This one is wonderful, filled with great story and characters. Beautiful story of love, family and forgiveness. ~Nichee
I can not praise this author’s books enough. I have loved every single one. I love the characters! I love the development of the romance! I love the story line. I love the fun dialogue. I know when I start one of her books I will have a hard time putting it down until I am done and then I am sad the book is over. I love that each story is unique. ~Nari

When Brigston entered the kitchen, Abby’s back was partially to him, so she didn’t immediately see him. Her brow was furrowed in concentration as she whipped something in a bowl. She paused to lift the spoon, only to frown at the white liquid dripping from it.
“Are you certain this will thicken into a cream?” she asked.
A flash of irritation crossed Monsieur Roch’s face until he spotted Morgan and seemed to think better of it. He managed a patient tone in his accented French. “It takes time, my lady.”
Morgan stifled a chuckle as Abby examined another spoonful of the liquid. “I’ve been whipping it for several minutes, but it doesn’t seem even a little thicker to me. Have I forgotten to add something?”
“No,” said the cook in clipped tones.
Morgan stepped forward and leaned in close. “If your arm is tired—”
Abby jumped, and what liquid remained on the spoon splattered across Morgan’s face. She spun around, her eyes growing wide with horror when she saw what she’d done.
He wiped a dab from his nose and tasted it. “A little more sugar, perhaps?”
“Brigston! I’m so dreadfully sorry.” She dropped the spoon into the bowl and grabbed a rag from a nearby wash basin, dabbing it across his face.
“Not that rag!” cried the cook. “It was only just used to mop the floors.”
Abby dropped it as though it had burned her, and Morgan tried not to cringe at the thought of filthy water coating his face.
Monsieur Roch retrieved a clean rag and held it out to him, appearing apologetic. He flicked another irritated glance at Abby before returning to his work.
As Morgan wiped the cream from his face, he wondered what Abby would do or say next. Offer another fumbled apology? Make her excuses and flee? Pretend the incident never happened and return to her labors? He never knew what to expect from her.
Her face scarlet, she cleared her throat and lifted her adorably determined chin. “You are most welcome, my lord.”
He raised a brow. “For what, my lady?”
“I have heard that cream does wonders for one’s complexion, and it seems the rumors are correct. Your skin appears much . . . creamier.”

Marrying Kiss Kringle: Frost
Frost buried her face in her hands, feeling all the pressure to save Christmas. Neither Stella nor Robyn had the potential for love yet. They were starting from scratch. But she had more than potential; she had an invitation. It was up to her to find Tannon; get him to profess his love to her; and save her family, the North Pole, and Christmas for children all over the world.
Oh, Tannon, I hope you’re ready to love me.
Frost Kringle broke one of the North Pole’s rules the day she replied to a letter from Tannon Cebu; but, her Kringle-enhanced empathy wouldn’t allow her to walk away from the anguish in his words. What began as a disobedient impulse grew into friendship and eventually love. If her secret romance is revealed, she’ll be banished from her home and family.
When the Kringles discover Christmas Magic is dangerously off balance, Frost musters up the courage to meet Tannon in person with the hope that they can marry and save Christmas. While she’s away from her precious Letters Room, her secret is blown right open and she’s exiled. In order to make it home for Christmas, Frost has to bring Christmas cheer to those who need it most.
Tannon, is tired of the corporate grind and wants out. He’s decided to sell his paper mill and retire to a quiet corner where he can raise his son in peace. His announcement, right before the holidays, creates an uproar as employees wonder if they’ll have a job in the New Year. No one in town feels like celebrating and they have little hope of a happy holiday.
If Frost can get Tannon, and the town of Elderberry, to believe in Christmas once again, she’ll make it home and save Santa’s workshop from turning into a block of ice and ruining Christmas for children all over the world. Trouble arises when Tannon’s interest turn to Frost more than to Christmas. She walks a tinsel-fine line between falling for him and failing in her Christmas quest.
With her whole world out of balance, Frost must look deep inside herself to bring about a Christmas miracle–with a little help from her jolly family.

I have loved all of Lucy McConnell’s books, and this one definitely lived up to my expectations.
I love the other books in this series and this one did not disappoint. It was an enjoyable story that kept me reading late into the night. I can’t wait for next installment!
I found Marrying Miss Kringle to be a fun and lovely read. It is light in nature with a feeling of watching one of those Lifetime Christmas movies, but only in book form.
Picture
Frost Kringle rubbed her arms. “It’s not my year. I’m the youngest. You two should find your husbands first,” she told her older, single sisters.
Robyn huffed. “Apparently, Christmas Magic doesn’t give a partridge in a pear tree about birth order. And I don’t, either. Come with us—just to get used to being south-er.”
Frost hesitated, searching for a polite way to tell them to jump out of a flying sleigh.
Stella took her hesitation as a silent agreement and forged on. “Perfect. Where should we go? I was thinking of heading back to Alaska.”
“No thanks.” Robyn popped another chocolate. “We need someplace new.”
Frost puzzled the question of where they should go. She puzzled it high and she puzzled it low. And while she puzzled, a strange thought came to be. A thought she thought just might be the key. She tried to hold it in, did her best to be good. But there was a part of Frost Kringle that never quite could. “Oregon,” Frost whispered, staring off into space. “Elderberry, Oregon. That’s the place.”
Both her sisters stared at her. “Why there?” asked Stella.
Frost cleared her throat, breaking through the fog that had clouded her mind while at the same time giving herself clarity. She mentally stumbled to come up with an excuse that wouldn’t reveal her biggest and best-kept secret. “It’s got a large populate of single men. There’s a, um, paper company and mill and they make beautiful stationary.” Like cream envelopes with gold trim that bring the most wonderful letters.
Stella shrugged. “As long as it’s got men, I’m game.”
Robyn poked Stella in the arm. “That’s your problem—you need to be pickier.”
“Do you have a better idea?”
Frost held her breath. She’d dreamed and dreamed of going to Elderberry, of meeting Tannon, of finally seeing the man whose words had captured her heart. If she was a romantic, it was because each mail delivery included a little bit of romance just for her.
      “No,” admitted Robyn.
“Okay, then.” Stella slapped her hand on the table. “Meeting adjourned. We’re going to Elderberry the day after tomorrow. Have your bags packed.”
Frost threaded her fingers together under the table, holding her hands tight, tight, tight in an effort to hold in her excitement as her sisters left the room. She was going to meet Tannon.
“I’m going to meet Tannon,” she said out loud. With a squeal, she threw her hands in the air.
This trip may be the best thing that ever happened to her, or it may be the ending of a long and special friendship. Either way, the time had come to meet her crush face-to-face.

Meanwhile, her friendship with the Iceveins family deepens, unveiling a love she never expected. But her majik is still bound to the cursed prince she left behind and he isn't done fighting for her soul.
Darker forces walk in the forests, all drawn to Vynasha's light and the shade of a corrupt Enchantress haunts her waking dreams. A war is about to begin, between the forgotten people of Wylderland and the evil power of Bitterhelm.

Prophecy and Forgotten unite in the epic third chapter of the Wylder Tales Series, a gothic re-telling of Beauty and the Beast.

EXCERPT:
It said something of the nature of majik, that Vynasha found Grendall’s amulet so easily. She
clawed at the snow until she reached a hole in the dirt and uncovered Erythea’s hiding place. The
sight of Old Ced’s towsack wrenched a dry sob from her chest.

“Nothing is as it seems…” Father had said before he died. Before she killed him.

She tore a hole in the sack in her haste to retrieve the amulet and snarled at the damned
amethyst in her hands. Her hands shook as she fell back into the snow at her feet and gripped the
talisman. Grandmother had once called this a key and a burden. Thea saw it as a weapon.
Vynasha yearned to welcome the security of the bond, longed to feel in control of her majik
again. She wanted to throw it as far as the east is from the west.

“No matter how far you cast it, the key will find its way back to you,” a smooth deep voice
whispered.

Vynasha stumbled to her feet as if she were still human. A tall male with ebony skin, white
eyes and spiraling horns on his head greeted her. His smile was strangely human, and while she
felt prickles of instinct telling her to run, something in his eyes bade her wait. Listen.

“Who are you?” she blurted, colored and shook her head. “Sorry, I—I’ve seen you before,
around the village.” She bit her lip and couldn’t help but take in his finely tailored colorful
clothes, like something the traveling merchants wore in Whistelande.

The male’s smile grew. “I have used many names. You may call me Vedmak, curse breaker.”

She shivered and brought the amulet closer to her chest. “Please, call me Vynasha.”

Vedmak inclined his antlered head, white eyes falling to the jewel in her hand. “It calls to
you, it’s missing half. Why do you fight it so?”

Vynasha struggled to measure her breathing. She wasn’t afraid of the mirror folk. Thea was
friends with some of them, wasn’t she? They had never sought to harm her.
Yet why now, as I hold the amulet, does one of them choose to speak to me?

Aloud she said, “If I wear this…” She swallowed. “I share his dreams.”
Vedmak nodded. His sigh was the wind whispering through the winter forest. “Blood majik
is how she captured him as well. It is what haunts his dreams.”

Vynasha glanced at the amulet, the way it flashed the same color as her blood. “I should
throw it away, where no one will find it.”

“And yet, it has returned to you,” Vedmak replied, closer than he had been before. She
glanced up to find him only three paces nearer, so near, she marveled at the delicate carvings in
his ivory horns. “None of us can fight fate, least of all you, dear sister.”
She met his enigmatic gaze and wondered at the slow smile creeping up her face. “Sister. I
suppose I have more in common with your folk than anyone, don’t I?”

Vedmak inclined his head. His silent appraisal made her skin begin to crawl until he spoke
again. “Our queen was one of us as well, until she turned to dark majik. She tried to change her
fate with disastrous consequences. But the prince was born of both worlds, like you. Perhaps, if
you both embraced all you were, together, you might restore the balance?”

Vynasha gaped. “The prince is a monster,” she said and she meant it. “He used my father to
snare me into coming here. He lied to me so I would break his mother’s curse.”
Vedmak pursed his full lips. “Yes. Desperation has led men to do all manner of unspeakable
acts. Still, you should remember, nothing in the borderlands is what it seems.”

Northern Deception - Laurie Wood

I absolutely love this intense and truly romantic story. The story line is fantastic. Once I started to read I couldn't put it down.
The characters are all well-developed. I fell in love with Lukas. His character is what all women dream about.
The title and book cover are perfect for the story.
I highly recommend this book!
I give it a literary rating of 5/5
