In Akash and Mila and the Big Jump, the reader/listener is presented with a positive approach to trying new things. It encourages persevering and not letting fear prevail.
The illustrations by Chiara Civvati are colorful and quite good. However, the illustrator seems to have a challenge in focusing some of the individual’s eyes and in forming correct proportionality with the character’s arms.
There are a couple of places where the sentences lack in having a “smooth flow” and on a couple of occasions didn’t make complete sense.
All in all, I feel it is a good book for children to listen to and to read. The hardcopy is well-bound and has quality paper.

Anthony Delauney is a financial Dadvisor and the founder of Owning the Dash, LLC, an organization dedicated to promoting childhood financial literacy and family financial freedom. Delauney has written a series of award-winning children’s picture books that each teach basic lessons about money. He has also authored two financial self-help books geared toward helping young couples start their financial journey and toward helping older couples prepare for their transition into retirement.
