Welcome to Hop. It’s dirty, it’s wet, and everyone feels sort of stuck there. They are, in fact. It’s a floating port buffeted by dangerous currents. Gai and Lynd Izz are brother and sister, and their father is one of the only people known to have escaped Hop five years ago. Things tend to break around Lynd as if by magic, especially when she’s angry or upset. Gai is good at fixing the things Lynd breaks, but what he really wants to fix is Lynd.
Just when Lynd thinks she’s found a way to find their father, she disappears from Hop too. Gai and their mother are left to deal with the aftermath, and their neighbors’ suspicions.

She does not get along with her classmates, especially the girls who consider her a freak, attacking her and her only friend, Valerie. Whenever this happens, she responds by using magic which only makes things worse.
One day she is visited by a weird creature who claims to be from a different realm where he claims her father is. Her curiosity and anger at not knowing her father’s whereabouts end up causing her to take her friend and go to Vahldohr, her father’s world where she finds herself in the middle of a conflict between white wizards and dark ones. There are dragons, fairly-like creatures, centaurs, witches and monsters. Magic is everywhere and she must learn how to use her powers to protect herself and Valerie.
Unfortunately, her friend is captured by a dark dragon and taken to the castle of the evil wizard, Rhornatoryll, who wants to rule Vahldohr.
Mellissadorha is left trying to find her father, track down her missing friend and hone her magic in order to survive. Can she do it?

Meet the Author:
Other than my childhood wonderings, I started writing seriously about 10 years ago with an emphasis on fantasy. Being a “Disney” child I loved reading and imagining fantasy at an early age writing stories about mysteries with magic and heroic characters fighting evil. I went through a phase writing sci-fi but later turned to dark realms and magical creatures, wizards, witches, and warlocks.
In 2007, after a serious accident, I decided to write Y/A fiction. I spent a period of time learning from a seasoned author and editor and friend, Bev Cook.
When my writing was good enough I sent my second book out and was picked up by MuseItUp Publishers. My three current books The Saxe Point Park Mystery, The Lost Boys of Lampson, and The E&N Escape form a Trilogy called Vancouver Island Mysteries, using the same characters.
The third book is a wonderful new educational fantasy. It reenforces the manners and positive attitude we all need to apply. This teaches good values and important principles to apply beginning at a very young age. The very effective people at PR By the Book has graciously donated this book.

Meet the Author:
Sophia R. Tyler’s new children’s picture book, The Friendly Mouse (March 21, 2022, Tiger Lily Publishing) evokes the tone and style of Aesop’s Fables and calls back to beloved classics like Peter Rabbit. Good-natured and eager, Mouse loves his home in the countryside and works in the city. Despite being overwhelmed by his struggles, he chooses to be kind and learns that, sometimes, your job isn’t your most important responsibility. So much in life can be lost if you allow jobs and responsibilities to overwhelm you. Far more is gained when you take the time to show kindness and to treat others as you want to be treated.
