Book & Review for #1!
Rescued by Love
Park City Firefighter Romance, Book 4
By: Cami Checketts
Narrated by: Teddy Hamilton
Length: 3 hrs and 54 mins
BOOK DESCRIPTION:
Captain Cameron Compton is content with his job as a firefighter and coaching a youth lacrosse team. He doesn’t need or want anything else in his life. Then a tall blonde schoolteacher parks her Jeep illegally in front of a fire hydrant, and one of his crew soaks it with water. Repentant but unintimidated, she fires back at him, and he’s pulled in by her spunk.
Sage Turner has wished her entire life that she could shrink to a normal-sized woman. She hides her insecurities pretty well, but when she falls for a hot firefighter, she’s certain she’ll never be good enough.
Stranded together at her cabin, sparks start to fly, and Sage barely suppresses the urge to kick him out in a snowstorm.
A fire and a moose attack should bring them together, but instead, they might sever any hope of being rescued from the flames or loneliness.
REVIEW By LAWonder10:
Rescued By Love is the 1st book in the Park City Firefighter romance series by Cami Checketts. This is one very talented, multi-faceted writer! I have yet to discover a book written by Cami Checketts that isn’t well-written and interesting.
Sage had to run a quick errand for her mother. There were no parking places near the store and since she just needed one item to quickly pick up, she parked in front of the fire hydrant while she ran into the store. What are the odds that a fire would occur during that short time, but lo and behold, a fire occurred next door and as she was ready to leave with her purchase, she noticed a firefighter, struggling to get the hose attached to the fire hydrant turn and spray her open jeep! She briskly walked out and confronted him. He spouted back at her while attempting to flirt with her simultaneously by addressing her as ‘Amazon Lady’!
In the midst of the conflict, “hotty” Firefighter Captain Cameron commanded the flirty fireman to get busy doing his job. After a brief confrontation afterward, Sage was told to drop by the fire department after she had received the receipt for the damage and the guilty firefighter will pay the damage charges.
Sage was an elementary school teacher who always tried to set a good example for her students who looked up to and admired her. She had previously emailed a fire department Captain to come and speak to her class on fire safety. Bothe she and the Captain were surprised when he arrived that they had previously met. He was very tall. Sage was very self-conscious about her own height. It didn’t hurt they were both two very attractive people. However, each had her/his own “baggage”. Can they get past the baggage and truly develop a positive relationship together?
The story steadily moves forward with suspense, action, and emotion. The characters are wonderful and very endearing. The Title and Cover image were both very eye-catching and fitting.
The Narrator, Teddy Hamilton did an outstanding performance in his narrating, voice fluctuations, emphasis, and energy.

REVIEW By LAWonder10:
In this 6th book of the Park City Firefighter series, the Firefighter Cam and his fiance, Sage arranged for family members to meet in Park City to get acquainted before the upcoming wedding. Sage was very worried about her over-protective, military, part-time Firefighter, Levi. He insisted he had to meet Cam before giving his approval of the marriage.
Outraged, Cam’s sister, Caylee, determined she despised Levi. He had to be a wealthy, hoity-toity jerk> Her brother Cam sacrificed much of his life to raise her when their parents were killed. There was none better than her brother.
When the meeting of the two did not go well, Saage planned a weekend trip for the four of them on a houseboat at Lake Powell. Caylee and Levi decided for the sake of their siblings, they would not ruin the weekend trip. They each hoped they could endure each other without snide remarks for a few days.
The events of the next few days were challenging, fun, miserable and pleasant. Would this weekend end pleasantly or tragically?
Underneath the carefree, fun-loving Caylee, was a secret nobody knew. She never let anyone get close.
After serving as a physician in the military, in Afghanistan, Levi had hidden challenges he dealt with every day and night. Perhaps, in time, he would be able to put it all behind him and progress to living a normal life.
This story touches on very real situations and how some survive them. Each person has his/her own coping devices.
The topics are great and the writing is well done. The characters, as always are well-developed and feel so real. The writing style of the author always has a way of drawing the reader/listener in” and it is easy to imagine oneself as there and part of everything.
The only part of this story I was slightly critical of was some of the events were cut short and needed a little more depth to them. It felt like walking away from a conversation while someone was still talking.
It was still a very enjoyable read.
In the audiobook, Narrator, Teddy Hamilton, Did a very good job in his narrating and performance. The voices were consistent and the emphasis was placed in all the right places. There were a few phrases near the first part of the story that was repeated, but whether it was technical or the narrator’s mistake is unknown to me.
I offer a Four Stars rating for this book.

REVIEW By LAWonder10:
Caribbean Rescue is a great tale of a humble billionaire’s attraction to a spirited lady and her 3-year-old son. It is a very tender and captivating story. The characters seem very real and the scenes are well portrayed. This writer has a way of “drawing the reader in” so he/she feels he/she is there.
There is plenty of action, adventure, emotion, and more to keep the reader/listener entertained.
At first, I didn’t care for the Narrotor’s voices. They seemed raspy and out of character. However, as I listened further, his voice seemed to mellow out and he did a very good job. The only other negative is he seemed too insecure and needy for the successful billionaire he was. His and her inhibitions seemed to be slightly dragged out.
The characters were well-defined, and the scenes portrayed well. There was quite a bit of emotion.
Camo Checketts has the unique ability to cause the reader/listener to feel a part of the story from the first to the last page.
I offer a Four Stars rating for this book

REVIEW By LAWonder10:
Cozumel Escapee is a very endearing story. What’s not to love?! There are secluded Islands, annoying yet debonaire billionaires, danger, intrigue, romance, suspense, plus more!
As always, Cami Checketts’ characters seem so real! The story scenes are portrayed so well that they “draw” the reader into the story.
The Narrator, Jakobi Diem’s performance and “voices” fit the personalities well. He emphasized the words in all the right places and only messed up a couple of times when he repeated the same line twice.
I really loved both the book and the narrator.
Cancun Getaway
Billionaire Beach Romance, #3
By: Cami Checketts
Narrated by: Jakobi Diem
Length: 5 hrs and 10 mins
BOOK DESCRIPTION:
Don’t miss this inspiring and romantic addition to the Billionaire Beach Romances that best-selling author Taylor Hart has dubbed “fast-paced, fun, and flirtatious”.

Jace Browning lost his former love to the obnoxious and arrogant Brooks Hoffman. He buries himself in work until his brothers force him to meet them at an all-inclusive Cancun resort. He never dreamed he’d meet a dark-haired beauty who captures him with her dancing, positive attitude, and love for everyone. Now that he’s found her, he’s not going to let her go without a fight, but her son’s biological father might ruin both of their futures.

REVIEW By LAWonder10:
Moriah and her 3-year-old son were invited on her newlywed owners’ Spring vacation.
Moriah was a young, single mom who had not had a vacation in years. Her boss was more like a sister than a boss.
Mariah was pleasantly surprised to meet a blue-eyed, Adonis “blondie” on her first day at the resort. He reminded her of her son’s father. She could never allow herself to fall into that type of situation again. Se would definitely have to keep her “sass” and distance.
Jace had lost the girl he loved to Brook who was arrogant and boastful. However, he managed to retain the friendship his family had with his ex and her family. He and his two brothers – all billionaires- decided to meet at a Cancun resort to enjoy a vacation together. They were going to all go visit his ex and her husband and children who lived on a nearby island.
While at the Beach, Jace noticed a beautiful woman and a little boy struggling to surf. He couldn’t take his eyes off her. He decided to help them.
Soon, emotions, adventure, danger, and action occurs, and a wonderful read is the result!
This is the 3rd book in the Billionaire Beach Romance series. As always with this author, the books are clean!
This is a fast-paced, touching, exciting, whimsical, criminal, and page-turning book!
The Narrator, Jakobi Diem, has a rough, raspy voice that annoyed me at first but he was quite good and doing various voice fluctuations and did very well in emphasizing in all the right places. All in all, his voice grew on me.
There were a couple of places the phrases were repeated. I do not know if that was a technical or a Narrating issue.

REVIEW By LAWonder10:
When 10-year-old Bree became orphaned, then Foster Care separated her and her 8-year-old sister, she swore she would search until she found her when she got older. The sister was adopted, but Bree lived in several Foster homes and was badly treated. However, she studied hard in school and was able to get a scholarship.
Bree was fortunate enough to get a job with famous football player, Ryder Quinn, right after she graduated. He was a widower with a 4-year-old son who hasn’t talked since his mother’s death. He had tried many doctors and speech therapy was the last hope. The new speech therapist would also be the full-time nanny.
Both Ryder and Breee had preconceived notions about each other.
Bree now had the money to hire a Private Investigator to find her sister.
Adjustments have to be made, trust won, priorities changed, and discoveries made. It was quite predictable but had a couple of twists, plus, great writing, kept the reader’s/listener’s interest throughout the story.
As always, Cami Checketts creates captivating characters that feel real. She is extremely talented with the ability to bring the reader/listener into the story, from the first page to the last.
Stephen Dexter did an outstanding job in his Narrator performance. He emphasized all the right places, implemented great distinguishable voices, and kept the energy strong throughout the whole story.
I love that it is a passionate tale, yet remains clean.
This earned a Five Stars rating for Narration and story content.

REVIEW By LAWonder10:
I believe this book to be one of Cami Checketts’ best! There is so much daring, action, emotion, and family unity, topped off with a bit of humor and romance.
I love, love, the Quinn Brother series! They are all a part of the “American Dream”. As incredible as it seems, I personally know of families and individuals similar to this. It is something most can only yearn for.
In this second book, the only Quinn brother who is not military nor athletic is still successful. He has become a famous Country singer. He has always been teased for his “softer” side but is still a very much loved part of his family.
Ryder Quinn is marrying Bree. The only family she has left is Jazmine. However, Jazmine was adopted when Bree was 10 and she was 8. After being separated for so many years, Bree hired a PI to find her sister. Jazmine was part of a top-secret organization. Se tried to keep Bree and her family out f her life, but Bree was the only person who ever loved her. Jazmine made a decision to attend the wedding but was on constant alert.
When Kaleb saw and briefly interacted with Jazmine, he was smitten! She was the most beautiful, interesting, mysterious woman he had ever met. He never believed in love at first sight until now.
Jazmine had always had a special place in her heart for the singer and his songs. She could never let anyone know. After the singer announced he was engaged to stop the heckling after a performance., he received a threat against his family. In order to earn some time to catch the criminal, the family went through a quick wedding that would be annulled in a few days.
Could Jazmine really go through with this? Kaleb was all for it but he didn’t want Jazmine forced into it. However, he would do everything he could to win her over.
This is an action-packed, intense story that will keep the reader/listener on the edge of his/her seat! The characters are mostly all very endearing. Extreme opposite life experiences are brought into the play. Many will find this to be a very emotional tale.
As always, the characters and scenes of her story captivated the reader from the first page to the last and pulled the reader/listener into the story.
The Narrator, Stephen Dexter, did an outstanding narration and performance of this audiobook. The voices were mostly consistent, he put full meaning and energy into the story.
I offer a Five Stars rating

REVIEW By LAWonder10:
Hailey helps manage her Dad’s Football team. She had a negative past experience and had made a rule to never date a Football player. She was beautiful so the guys kept trying.
One day an obnoxious member of the Football Association, who constantly made obscene comments, was really pressuring her. She did not want to make him mad because of the repercussions to the team he could cause so she politely told him she would date him except that she is engaged. She had noticed an unfamiliar young man noticing the confrontation with a concerned look, so when he demanded to know who she pointed to the observer who was walking toward them and said it was him. The man was taken off-guard but quickly played along with the ruse. When they walked away together, Hailey thanked the man and introduced herself/ He, in response, introduced himself as Brady Giles, the new recruit.
Brady loved his former team and teammates, plus, most of his family were close, but he had a relentless stalker he needed to escape. Although it didn’t solve the problem. Brady was determined to love his new team and teammates. Suddenly, the gorgeous girl in front of him, declaring him as her fiance, he definitely decided his life had just gotten better. He knew she was the owner’s attractive daughter.
When the owner discovered the problem, the two were having, he declared they needed to go a step further.
This is a romantic story with twists involving abuse, and stalkers. It is also a story about two people raised in two different worlds.
The characters, as always, feel so real and the scenes are vividly described and truly “brings the reader/listener in”.
The story is somewhat predictable but is so well-written, with a couple of unexpected twists, that it is totally worth the reading/listening time.
The Narrator, Samantha Gook, did a very good job Narrating and in her performance. She kept the energy high, the “voices” mostly consistent, and placed all the emphasis in the right places.
Overall the Narration and story earns a Five Stars rating.

The Beastly Groom is the 3rd book in the Texas Titans Romance series. Cami Checketts is known for her ability to “draw the reader/listener in” from the first page until the last. She is also known for creating characters that feel so real. It is so easy to connect with her writing and forget that the story isn’t real. She did not disappoint in this book.
The Book was very well-written, although somewhat predictable. However, it was still a very interesting, enjoyable book.
The Narrator, Samantha Cook did a very good job in narrating and in her performance.
I offer a Four Stars rating.

REVIEW By LAWonder10:
This series is a “spin-off” from Checketts’ book, ‘The Sister Pact’.
As teenagers, five friends made a pact of which seemed incredibly impossible as they became adults.
However, Alyssa allowed Maren to talk her into a couple of schemes which
may be her ultimate undoing.
This book has romance, suspense, and a “bucketful “ of various emotions. The author successfully connects with the reader/listener. This book also displays the negative effects of giving into peer pressure.
The Narrator, Amy McFadden, did a very good job of presenting the various “voices”, and in her performance. She successfully placed emphasis in all the right places.
I offer a Five Stars rating for this book.
