It was so great meeting with Award-Winning Author, Kari Bovee! Kari impressed me last year when I listened to her Annie Oakley series on Audible. I absolutely loved them! She did such a fanstastic job in following Annie Oakley’s life in a clever fictionalized series. They are such fun to readand/or listen to! Never fear, she adds notes to the things that really did happen and those  she used her fictional creativity in order to  enhance the tales.

There is some romance involved, but mostly adventures, action and “heart”.

Meet The Author:

It is so fun for me to take the spark of an idea and grow it into full-length book of mystery and intrigue, usually in a historical setting. The spark for my historical fiction books often comes from something or someone in history that moves me or makes me think about how people in the past might have thought about or reacted to a mystery in their life.

My manuscript Grace in the Wings was placed in the Romantic Suspense category of the 2012 LERA Rebecca contest, the 2014 NTRWA Great Expectations contest, and the RWA 2016 Daphne du Maurier contest. In 2012 the unpublished manuscript Girl with a Gun placed in the NHRWA Lone Star Writer’s contest. In 2019 I was honored as a finalist in the Next Generation Indie Awards for the published novel, Girl with a Gun as well as the winner of the Hillerman Southwest Fiction Award.

When she’s not on a horse, or walking along the beautiful cottonwood-laden aceqias of Corrales, New Mexico; or basking on white sand beaches under the Big Island Hawaiian sun, Kari Bovée is escaping into the past—scheming murder and mayhem for her characters both real and imagined in her award-winning historical Annie Oakley Mystery series and Grace Michelle Mystery series.

Born in northern New Mexico, Kari developed a love of reading, writing, and history early in life. Her most treasured Christmas gift as a young child was a toy typewriter. After graduating with a B.A. in English Literature with an emphasis in Creative Writing, Kari found work as a technical writer at a Fortune 500 tech company. But, her love of story-telling never waned. While staying at home with two young children, Kari wrote her first novel and hasn’t stopped. She and her husband live happily in rural Corrales, New Mexico with their horses, dogs, and cats.
