Marcus goes to Jerusalem where he sees Jesus hold a denarius saying, “Give to the emperor the things that are the emperor’s and to God the things that are God’s.” What will seeing Jesus mean for Marcus, and will he ever be the same again?

Review By LAWonder10:
Marcus and the Emperor’s Coin (In God We Trust Series) by Dennis Conrad is a combination of genres put in simple terms so that very young children can learn and be entertained at the same time.
Within this book’s pages, are topics such as: self-esteem, becoming responsible, adventure, history, minting, and scripture references.
Marcus rises to the occasion as he receives an opportunity to accompany his father on a business mission. He has a ew mishaps he fears will lose his father’s trust in him.
When they pick up the object his father must collect for the emperor, Marcus has a chance to learn a new skill and make a new friend.
Did Marcus succeed? Read and find out for yourself.
There are a few vocabulary words, plus a few words that a pronunciation guide is given. In addition to these teaching aids, there is a short Glossary.
Although this includes a few scriptures from the Bible and a short introduction to a teaching of Jesus, this book is mostly a fun, educational book for all to enjoy.
The illustrations, done by Courtney Smith, are in watercolor design. They are colorful and slightly abstract but are well done.
The book is made with quality material and binding. The Title and Cover Image are well-chosen.
I offer a Five-Stars rating.
This book was gifted to me with no pressure to post a positive review. This is my honest review.

Are You Looking for Books with Teachable Moments? by Dennis Conrad
Dennis Conrad writes books that offer lessons about history, coins, and faith.
The Two-Cent Piece offers a history lesson. The actual coin was the first to have the words “In God We Trust.” The book, set during the American Civil War, required research. Dennis confirmed the historical accuracy of the story with a Civil War expert whose extensive collection of Civil War artifacts is currently on display in a museum. Other lessons include a child’s generosity and compassion for others.
Marcus and the Emperor’s takes place at the time of Christ. Once again the author relied on research. After studying about the mining of silver ore, ancient Roman minting processes, and coins of the period, he wrote the story.
Dennis integrates faith into both stories, as he even includes Bible verses. Moreover, the back of each book has material for homeschoolers and family members about coins and collecting.
