Justice, her elder sister, and her brother, plus her youngest brother were all abandoned by their mother who had been withdrawn for a long time. The only child she would take was a brother that had been absent a long time. Why only him?
Their father was seldom home because of his business. However, he always let them know he cared about them.
Just before their mother left, their father frantically whisked them away to a “safe estate” far away from their London home. He claimed they were in grave danger.
As things escalated, the remaining kids were on their own. Justice was “her father’s daughter” and refused to allow the pain and destruction and do nothing! These destructive forces were trying to separate ad destroy her family. She refused to stay in one place and allow it!
This is an adventure book that increases in intrigue and suspense as the story develops into widespread dilemmas. It is full of fantasy with characters from various realms.
The characters a described well and the scenes are vividly portrayed. The Title and Cover Image are very well chosen. They are both very e”eye-catching” and will surely attract “the browsers”.
The only negative was following the story at first. It was quite confusing until the foundation was set. The ending did not leave a feeling of completion with it’s “cliff hanger”
The Narrator, Fiona Hardingham, did a wonderful job in narration. She had a soft, young voice, but then this was created for Young Adults, so I guess it is okay. She was quite consistent in the various “Voices” and placed emphasis in all the right places.
I offer a four Stars rating for the narrator and a Four Stars rating for the book.

Christian Klaver has been writing for over twenty years, with a number of magazine publications, including Escape Pod, Dark Wisdom Anthology, and Anti-Matter. He’s the author of The Supernatural Case Files of Sherlock Holmes series, but has written over a dozen novels, both fantasy and sci-fi, often with a Noir bent. He’s worked as book-seller, bartender and a martial-arts instructor before settling into a career in internet security. He lives just outside the sprawling decay of Detroit, Michigan, with his wife, Kimberly, his daughter, Kathryn, and a group of animals he refers to as The Menagerie. He’s also a part of the Untitled Writer’s Group based in Ann Arbor for the past decade or so with a bunch of equally starry-eyed dreamers and social misanthropes.
