From their windows, balconies, and gardens, the residents of the land of Acre stare north at the ominous black clouds that crawl across their beloved skies, overshadowing their homes. Under the clouds, a darkness has befallen the majestic City of Lynn.
Within the city, a cornered Queen, once true and just, now plays a game of cat and mouse with the races of Acre. Each season, as the Queen fights for control, the ‘Unknowns’ from the North approach. With them comes the stench of evil, fear, and death.
But… there is hope. A lost legend now awakened.
A set of dormant orbs lay in the gnarled hands of an old man. One by one, the dull orbs spark and swirl to life. Somewhere within the City of Lynn, the scroll of equals remains hidden. It’s text, supplied by the gods, awaits the chosen who may one day save the land of Acre.
Or so the legend says.

Review By LAWonder10:
Juno and the Lady is a reasonably fast-paced beginning to an interesting fantasy series with a strong-willed. female presence. It begins with two close friends attending a finishing school. Ones was left there as an orphan that the main matron “took under wing” and raised her as her as if she was her own child. However, one day when this child was enjoying her daily duties routine, she came across some bullies, then the school leadership mysteriously changes as well as her whole life!
The stary begins when the girls were roughly seventeen. The book starts off with a captivating, strong beginning. However, because of a slightly drawn out main content, it looses some of the momentum, yet the action never stops.
There are several unexpected “twists” and the characters are very well-defined, interesting and and feel real. The scenes are fairly easily to visualize, although many are cut o abruptly.
It was a “page-turner” most of the time.
The Title and Cover image were chosen well, are eye-catching, colorful and depicts the story well.

Guest Post:
Is there lots to do before you drive in and start writing the story?
I am a plotter. A big time plotter. I have a rather lengthy process that I go through before I draft my novel or series of novels. The process has four parts, pre-outlining, detailed outlining, world/character mapping and scenes/sequels creation. I start with a pre-outline of the entire story utilising some of the common story structures. I do the pre outline quite a few times because new ideas come to light as I learn fresh pieces of the story. Once the pre outline is done, I move to a full story structure where I copy the pre outline and then expand into a detailed outline. I then use an A3 piece of paper to map out the world (geography) and the characters. I then, using the maps, break down the detailed outline into scenes and sequels.
Only once all the above have been done, I draft.
As I draft, I go back to the above process and redo it if the story doesn’t hold together. The process above sounds long winded and tedious, but while writing my first novel, I went off track and ended up having to scrap the first two drafts. Pulling the above together saves an enormous chunk of time in the long run.
Another important piece about the above process is that it helps to track the entire series. As I go through my mapping, I monitor where the previous characters are. Sometimes a previous character gets called to appear in the current novel.
I think it is really important to plan as much as possible when writing a fantasy series. There is just too much to remember to pantser your way through it. It also saves you having to make that terrible, soul-destroying decision to scrap your current draft and to restart.
