In Night of Mysterious Blessings, you’ll share in the adventures of a boy and his beloved dog. Enter this curious, oh-so-mysterious night, and be amazed at what you see in the morning’s light. Best of all, uncover the priceless key to worrying less and smiling more.

So many books stress God is always with us. How fantastic for a book to proclaim the Scriptural truth that God is also within. It’s a lifelong gift for children to discover God makes his home inside them while their hearts are open to receive the mystery.

Review By LAWonder10:

Night of Mysterious Blessings is a great bedtime story for children, yet it is also a great story at any time – day or night.

This is a comforting story for any believer of any religion to give to a child. Even if one is not a believer in a supreme power, it is a comforting story to ease a child’s nighttime fears.

I felt the rhythm of the rhyme was slightly off but only a couple of times. Otherwise, the writing was done very well and the message was perfect.

The watercolor illustrations by Courtney Smith were not my favorite type but they were done very well and the images were filled with a lot f expression. I did like the way the nighttime darkness faded into the brightness of daytime. It offered a good effect.

At the end of the book, there are discussion questions and a couple of craft ideas to enhance the main idea of the story.

I love the positive nature of the story.

I offer a Four and a Half Stars rating.

Let Inspiration Rain

I take to the keyboard, rattling away, thinking I might be saying something important, worthwhile, or clever. For an hour or two, I work. Then I return after lunch to read words I would burn if I had a fireplace. Thank God for the key that’s marked delete. This scenario happens just often enough that when my ideas are significant or I earn a reader’s thoughtful smile, I know I’ve had help.

For centuries writers have spoken about their “muse”; Most creative people acknowledge that ideas sometimes seem to flow from a source beyond themselves. I like to think my muse is the Spirit, who, for some reason, graces me when I write. The more I humbly acknowledge my dependence on Divine inspiration, the more ideas flow.

I realize God can find a slew of writers to convey His message. Why He inspires me remains a mystery since others are more worthy. Perhaps it’s for the sake of my beloved audience. I know I’m more inspired and creative when, in my imagination, I converse with someone I care about who might benefit from my words. I’m looking into that person’s eyes and am fully present to them. What do they need to hear? What can I clarify?

I need my audience as much as they need me, and I believe if God stirs me to write, the ideas aren’t something I should keep to myself, even if sharing the message makes me feel vulnerable. The words I use to convey the point may differ, depending on the audience, but my writing always shares a part of myself.

So whether you need to create a novel, a painting, or a happy family, I hope you will stay in touch with your Muse, who often speaks from your heart. We can’t catch, command, or tame inspiration. For me, it’s more a matter of surrendering results and trusting the Spirit. I hope to get out of the way when I write, especially with my first draft.

I’m not claiming dictation. I wish! I once quipped on social media: “After the millionth rewrite, I humbly, devotedly ask my Muse: “Why didn’t you say that the first time?”. Writing is still work. Joyful work, but still work. I need to discipline myself to sit down, to keep trying to improve my skills, and to rewrite and rewrite as often as needed. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. Writing keeps me humble, energized, and in love with life and God.
