Review By LAWonder10:

Olive and the Valentine’s Spell is a somewhat whimsical story about a very young boy misunderstanding the real meaning of Valentine’s Day. When a wise mother validated his concerns, he came to a new conclusion.
The Illustrations by Vanessa Alexandre are cartoonish, very colorful and quite well done. The book is an oversize hard copy, great for reading time with a group.
I feel it would have been more effective if the author had not taken the effort to rhyme, but just written in regular story form. The rhyme was not good and there was no rhythm or smooth flow to it.
This is a cute Valentine’s Day book for very young children.
I offer a Three and a Half Stars rating
This book was gifted me with no pressure to post a positive review. This is my honest review.

How do you use writing as a tool in your life?

The way that I look at writing is almost like Messages from the soul. Usually when I write, it is spontaneous – almost like an urge that guides me to grab a pencil or my laptop and begin to write. When I have some sort of a deadline to submit something in writing, I must focus and find my authentic feelings pertaining to what I want to say. It all comes from my life experience or from things that inspired me deeply. I am very drawn to inspirational authors and public speakers, and I trust it because it makes me feel peaceful. Words that make us feel good we do not question and therefore, in my experience we transform the moment to a new possibility.

Meet the Author:

Children’s author Helen Millman is a loving wife and mom. Her three young boys continually inspire her with their wild adventures and vivid imaginations. They even helped inspire her to write her new book, Olive and the Valentine’s Spell!
While living in Vero Beach, FL, she spends her time writing, reading, singing, and growing through her life’s experiences. She knows the importance of “seeing the bright side of life” and encourages her readers to “choose love, even when it seems impossible”. A friendly, optimist Helen has always loved to read to her own children and remembers how much her imaginative voices really helped bring the stories to life. She invites her readers to gather with a beloved book, for it truly is one of the best places to snuggle, giggle, imagine, and make unforgettable memories – together.
